SH4 damage effects

Is there a mod that makes the damage effects in SH3 like SH4. specifically when a torpedo hits a ship it blows a hole in it's side and you can see the ships innards?

On the other hand, in my opinion that mod makes SH3 holes look better than SH4's.

Such a mod is not possible. The Silent Hunter 4 vessels have a separate "damage" layer in their DAT files allowing for 3 dimensional damage effects. This does not exist on SH3 ships.

As others have advised, the improved 2D damage graphics mod is your best bet.

Hi mate,

I am currently remodeling the damage effect in U-BOAT_HAHD and it is possible to have the hole in the hull but in our mod it will be better done because it include hull thickness so it look a lot better then SH4 this way.

There is no real 3d damage effect in Sh4 it is only a trick done with alpha map instead of having a black spot you use transparency to see true the hull.

Not only the hull damage is redone in our mod almost every possible aspect of FX and damage like new animated texture for shell hitting the water and it look 50 time better then SH4 and SH5 soon there will be a video showing all this.:Kaleun_Salute:

You guys have taken such an ambitous undertaking, i hope you dont forget about your wives lol cause they might hit you in the head with their HAHD lol But your screens look really good so far you guys might eventually make the best sh3 mod to date...
