Been using this mod about 3 weeks now and really enjoying it. Yesterday I was offered command of a new sub, a Tambor Class, upgrade from the Porpoise. Mostly I get 60fps all the time, unless something is spawning, particularly when using higher compression levels. Now I notice in the sonar/hydrophone window and both A scope and PPI scope windows that the frame-rate drops to 39fps, at any time compression. Anyone have any ideas how to correct this short of a new cpu and memory and/or video card?

had that myself, i went back to playing 2.1.Much as I admire the 3d tdc and radar mod, enjoy game just as much without it since learned to use the other radar well. The frame drop and the helmsman being in the control room instead of conning tower like in previous versions just pushed me away, eh im picky i know. Most of it is the frame drop though.Conning tower esp in the Gato Balao types is where the Captain was unless it was damaged, not being able to move around and operate there without a big FPS hit is a game killer in my opinion.Good news ill be getting a brand new(although my desktop is only 4 years old now) desktop for xmas, should run it no problem. Now just have to get my helmsman back in the conning tower and all will be right in the world of TMO lol.

Frame rates can be different for almost every system out there. So many variations in CPU type, system memory, graphic card type, it's easy to say what's good for one system, is just average for another. The fact that you had 60 fps most of the time and now only about half that at certain stations, clues you in on a possible problem at those stations. I'm suspecting it's the 3D TDC Radar mod. I believe it's on the Tambor and not the Porpoise class boats.
May I suggest an additional mod for TMO 2.2. The Optical Targeting Correction (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=181172)mod provides a radar station that provides range for targets with an "overlay" of the A Scope and PPI screens. This overlay provides reasonably accurate measurement for blip returns, accurate enough to feed the TDC/Position Keeper with information usable in a firing solution. The radar accuracy is dependent on how well you read the blip under the overlay, which is very near the way the "real life" radar was used.
Running the game with TMO 2.2 and OTC for TMO, the frame rate at the radar stations are 60 fps on my system. At 1920x1080 resolution, an older ATI 4850 graphics card with 512 memory.

That's what I was going to do too, but I figured out what folder and files I needed to delete so I could keep using 2.2. Basically I d'loaded the 3D Radar Range Unit Mod, then compared all that was in that mod to TMO 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 and SH4 Stock and deleted what was necessary from the 2.2 update. Tried it last night and so far so good. :yeah:

I've been using your OTC for TMO2.0 with TMO2.2. Don't remember for sure, but I think I made some adjustments to it so it would function to my liking. I also use the NAVMAP Update, Enlarged HUD Dials and 2/3 other mods that make everything to my liking. I'll have to give your latest one a try. Thanks for that! Guess I'll have to re-install the original TMO 2.2 update first though.

Yes, reinstall the original "TMO_Update_20_to_22" to your "MODS" folder before loading the OTC for TMO 2.2 mod.
If you made changes to the original TMO 2.2 folder why don't you "rename" it to something like "My_TMO_Update_20_to_22" then you would have both available if you wanted to go back to what you've changed. Depending on what you changed don't expect the OTC mod to work with it though.
