The file in question is either Submarine Bell.wav in data/sound/ or Submarine Bell.ogg in data/sound/speech/MFCM.

It's the painfully loud bell sound that triggers when you dive/crash dive/etc. I've tried swapping out the first file with a siren-like noise (Submarine_DiveAlarm_INT.wav for the test, which I think would work fine as a replacement) but it didn't work, so I'm guessing its the second file that needs to be changed. None of the sound mods I've seen alter this sound.

I've tried to convert the siren noise to .ogg but my crappy converter clips the start of the file which sounds awful. Can someone make or convert a less ear-splitting sound to replace the current bell? This would help us have our voice volumes low, our effects high (for the creaking at depth that chills your spine..) and not have our eardrums burst everytime a plane goes over :D

Here's hoping and thanks if anyone manages it! :salute:
