Anyone create a battleship Haruna for RSRD yet? Need an Akagi carrier as well.

The Haruna is a Kongo class. The Kongo class is in stock SH4, and therefore also in RSRDC.

Tis a Kongo, the Akagi on the other hand...Get to work Karle, you can do it, just don't use an existing JP platform in the game.:yeah: The Akagi would be a great addition, not sure if Max has one or not.

I'm not sure who released this file originally, but I think it was MadMax. Anyway, below you'll find a link for the Akagi. :yeah:

The Akagi was a converted battlecruiser with a longer thinner hull, while the Kaga was a converted battleship that is shorter but wider. Ironicly the Akagi was between 0.5-1 meter wider than the Kaga. The Akagi was three and a half knots faster than the Kaga, owing to the battlecruiser speed nature of her hull. The Akagi carried more planes but the Kaga was 2000 tons heavier. Arnaments were a little different. Since the ships they were converted from, the Tosa class battleship and the Amagi class battlecruisers were almost identical, except for size and that the Amagi had an extra funnel, the Akagi and Kaga looked almost identical as well, making them half sisters. If you will let me take a crack at them I can make the Kaga as she was in real life, instead of identical in every way to the Akagi, as she was not. I might even make better textures for both ships.

Look forward to it...what platforms would you use or do you start from scratch?

I will use the Akagi as a base and go drom there. If it`s ok for Max. Changing the Akagi into the Kaga should not be hard. Some resizing and minor 3D stuff and extra work in S3D. It`s a piece of cake. I am making a new texture for the two ships.

I have done some 3D stuff to the Akagi to get the kaga. Here is three pictures to illustrate the differances. Also showing my new textures. I will have to wait for a reply from Max to actually realease anything.
The left most and longer ship is the Akagi and the right and shorter one is the Kaga.

The closest one is the Kaga. She is one meter wider and 13 meter shorter. The island has been elongated and lowered. The island itself has been moved to the starboard (right) side and forward, past the third elevator. The platform sticking out of the front of the island has been removed. The shape of the front end of the flight deck has been changed and both front and aft flight deck edges has been elongatet so they reach as long as the bow and stern.

The closest one is the Akagi. No changes except the texture has been made from Max`s original model.

According to the readme in that file, it is for SH3, but based on a SH4 ship by AOTD-RHONEN. Would anybody know where to find the original SH4 ship?

Yea added it in manually bc it wouldnt show when activated jsgme.showed up in the ME but when started SH 4 it never would load, just stayed stuck at loading screen and was fine before tried to run it with the Akagi.:damn: Hopefully can versions of this that will work fine with TMO RSRD.

I think I've found the original Akagi SH4 version: she's part of the FOTRS v1.3.

I am downloading FOTRS now. If the Akagi works for FOTRS and stock, then so will it do in RSRDC. The same goes for the Kaga.
