...who put all this effort in keeping SH5 afloat. Not only in adding new functionality, improved realism, but also in fixing vanilla bugs.
1 1/2 years after release, the sim is enjoyable only due to the modders who put all that hard work in it.
My sincere Thank You all.
Ubisoft ows you big-time money.

"problem" is that all important big sales where done before or shortly after release (big resellers like amazone and so on), so the "modding benefit" regarding sales is only for customers who belived that the modders will fix it anyway and couldnt wait to have a look on it. I dont think that resellers take modding possibilitys or modding expections into account while ordering but mod expecting end customers do with pre orders maybe, but this seams to be only a hand full.

modding efforts through the community together with modding possibilitys duo the product itself can help rising a bad product repurtation maybe for the next title (the price is allready to low for getting a reasonable profit from the current title), even if it is a failiure for us "sim`s" at release, this customers can expect the fixes they need from the community later, some curios buy at release of the next title (me for example)... but those most "important" casual gamers will buy it anyway, because they know they can expect an unfinished casual game for idiots (and they are proud about it), willing to pay the full price at release (this nature makes those customers so important) :rotfl2:

"problem" is ..

I agree with you. Regarding SH5, there's nothing left to do or to undo but at least thanks to all these gifted modders the buyers money was not wasted. UBI's reputation has nevertheless taken further hits.
This looks like a similar situation to the relation UBI / Eagle Dynamics. Today ED is independent and releases their own quality sim's.
I can only hope a studio like ED will appear and release subsims. Maybe out the modders community? Who knows.

And one of the big problems is the SH-5 developing company don't care about the future of this game, so the official patch 1.2 is the last I quess.
Meanwhile the good example of hard post-release work on the game was shown by the developers ("1C")of the other sim-game - "IL-2 StormoviK" ("Pacific Fighters"), who realeased a dozens of officials patches (whith involving experts, modders opportunities etc.) that made this game the greatest WW2 fly-sim in the world, which is good enough without any mods installed.
As for SH-5 - it is just the reverse situation:nope:. So thank to the modders - they saved this game for the sim-fans:salute:

I look at the situation in black and white . I dont think there will be another sub game made , might as well make the most of SH5 . Besides i am sick of being owned with shooting games :O:
