I'm not one for using tools (except those that I make but even then hex editor is still king) but the SH5 guys needed something for quick editing/comparing/adding of the SDL file so I wrote an app for them. Since the file structure of the SDL file is unchanged from SH3 I can make it available to you all in SH3 also. In order to avoid having to update 3 different threads about this (SH5/4/3) I'm just going to give the link to the SH5 thread here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1692896&postcount=1

TDW,you seem like a nice guy.Any chance of fleshing out the realNav for SH3 a bit more?I see alot of work is going into that for Sh5 and thought maybe some can be ported.

I made it very easy to use so that people unfamiliar with modding and/or the SDL file can use it.
The next version will allow you to verify a .DSD file against an SDL file and maybe add new entries into a DSD file (or create a new one) based on the SDL file.

The only reason I can get real navigation to work like I wanted it to in SH5 is because I can use scripting. It's not really scripting either, it's programming because I'm using Python to extend the SH5 game. And via Python I can further extend the SH5 game via new DLLs.
Not to sound rude either but I have no interest in SH3 (or SH4) anymore. They are old, outdated games (were excellent in their days - SH4 not so sure about because I shelved it within 10mins) but SH5 is the sub sim game for me now

??? :o
SH3, SH4 and SH5 is the same chewing gum that has lost the taste for 6.5 years.
The same mistakes and problems, shortcomings of AI and graphics engine, and so on, are present in all editions.
In each edition, modders have to do almost the same work/patch.
Only newbies and you among them, as mossy shark, get pleasure from that new/old chewing gum, unfinished SH5.
Not interesting.
