Evening all,
Just wondered if someone could be so kind as to direct me to the mod that makes the flags a bit brighter at night? (using GWX3 of course).I once had this before but lost it in a data incident.
Thanks

It's called Flags_enlighten, I know that much. If it's not here in Downloads I would suggest trying Jim's FF page. :yep:
Have you made your "normal" searches on this here, and on the web :hmmm:

Ah, noted. It's probably somewhere in Maik's archive but I couldn't remember who made it so that wouldn't have been much help. :D

This is another example of why the mods should be uploaded here.
Not scattered all over the internet.
While I applaud those that took the time and expense to set up these DL sites so many are gone and the mods lost with them.
Neals SubSim has withstood the test of time and mods are safe here and easily accessible.
Please upload your mods here.

Rgr that....GWX and earlier versions would/should have been uploaded to SS but the problem was the size of the files as well as the potential cost to Neals bandwidth.
I take the knock for the bandwidth costs for GWX.
I didn't know about this mod that was mentioned. But to improve the brightness of things at night I simply resorted to what they did back then in real life. Reduce bright light sources in your view. Your eyes accomodate to the brightest light source they see. So if you turn of the often bright dials in the GUI (numpad . iirc), turn off any lights in your playing environment (for real immersion have a red night-stand light ;) ), try not to play during daytime and keep the bright moon out of view. Then flags and smoke should start to become much more easier to see. But I agree, it is a severe limitation on when and how you can play. It may not be worth it for you.

To be fair though the flags in GWX did become really dark making them virtually unreadable at ranges as close as 200m and colours were almost impossible to differentiate. The enlighten mod in MY opinion is a really helpful one allowing for night attacks at the standard range of 600 - 1000m a viable option.Lets be honest, who DOESNT like attacking at night :arrgh!:
Nice to see you again by the way,I have been away from the game/forum for almost a year!

with the shower head dripping on my head for that extra realism when being DCd :haha:
