View Full Version : "Last Post" Sound MOD

I am in search of an older SH3 sound MOD that I believe was created by Venatore. If a crew member or members were listed as deceased (indicated by the crewman's icon turned red in the crew management screen) they could be buried at sea once you surfaced by "right-clicking" on the crew member's icon and the bugle call "The Last Post" would automatically play as the deceased icons disappeared from the crew roster. I have searched repeatedly for this MOD but the links have always seemed to be broken/dead.
Is anyone able to offer any assistance in my search?

Hello Kitzbuell,
I know it will seem a bit odd to reply to yoyur post with a negative answer.:hmmm: But I do it so you do not feel left aside.....
Anyway I had a good look in my archives and on several sites but up to now without any success.....I'll keep an eye open for that and let you know if any luck.
Btw .......This "sound mod..looks interesting so if in your side you have any luck, Thank you to keep me updated!

It's only a sound file for gramophone folder, no automatic play as Kitzbuell mentioned.
I think you've to convert it to .ogg format (http://www.sendspace.com/file/m52p4o) otherwise it won't work...

Ahoy Borgne,
Thanks for responding.
To date, no one has been able to supply me with any information to connect or locate the MOD in question. If I ever do find it, I will be sure to let you know.
I remember receiving this MOD a number of years ago after I first discovered the SubSim website. I had a patrol in which I lost two of my watch crew to strafing by allied aircraft. After evading the enemy aircraft by submerging for a few hours, I surfaced the vessel and, after opening the crew window and "right-clicking" on one of the deceased crew member's icon, the "Last Post" sound file played automatically as the deceased crew member(s) ' icon disappeared. For me, this particular MOD just created another layer of realism to the SH3 sim environmental immersion.
Thanks again and I will contact you should I receive anything specific.
Good Hunting,
Kitzbuell

Kitzbuell, that sounds like an awesome mod.I had 7 dead crew men on board for one month last patrol.:hmmm:I am bumping this post for good reason!!
Also,I hate the crew management aspect as its very unrealistic. You have guys sitting on the helm the whole trip who never get tired while guys in torpedo rooms getting wasted just laying around in there.I'm thinking of removing this aspect in my game because I feel that crew will rest in torpedo rooms...there are bunks there in typeIIA afterall. No more putting people into the crew quarters.....but only some people as others are superb masters of coffee consumption.
I feel that the buttons on lower right are suffice and crew efficiency should go by whats chosen there only.............................................. .................................
All surfaced modes have slightly higher efficiency loss compared to same function(surfaced torpedo/submerged torpedo)while submerged.
Cruise modes have efficiency regeneration for all crew members with submerged being higher.
Attack mode and when damage control is clicked then the efficiency decline is at its highest.
