THEBERBSTER, no need to choke me off like this! That software (S3F) has never had any 'installation issues', I have watched its thread from the beginning. I did not want to discuss personal anymosities that some have.

Besides that, I did not ask you, I asked Onkel Neal, who has in the meantime replied in private and now I understand why this helpful tool is swept under the carpet.

I just want to make sure that I do that correctly so that the auto-renew on my current AotD is turned off. Anything special I need to be aware off to accomplish this? As I am returning to sub simming after close to 5 years, I figure I will need lots of help :doh:, so upgrading seems like the least I can do to help out here...SubSim is a must have for me, especially as I contemplate expanding from SH to other simulations.

But I am very surprised to see that this donation will be not unique and will be repeted as regular donation in time, every 6 month : I did not want to subscribe that sort of thing, my intention was to do a unique donation (not donation every 6 month)


I have paid by Paypal system with my credit card (Mastercard) because I have not account Paypal, and I received Paypal informations who said to me that Every 6 months Subsims will receive the same donation ; Paypal said to me to contact SUBSIMS to cancel that if I do not want to pay other donations


Please, cancel this curious and anormal subscription : You may keep my $10 (9,24 euros), but I do not want to pay other subscriptions every 6 month : I wanted to do only one unique donation.


I noticed that the information you give on the site about subscription are not very clear : (citation) : “Validity periods marked * indicate that purchasing this subscription is recurring, this means after the period is complete it will be renewed if you choose.”


But it is not true at all : people have no real choice between unique subscription and multiples subscription every 6 months etc


So, people think they do a unique donation for 6 month, but they don’t know that every 6 month the subscription will be made again and again : it’s a very anormal and critical situation, you have to inform people and you do not.


I ask for cancelling my subscription, I will not pay every 6 month, I wanted only to do a unique subscription to help this web site

In fact, as player, subs are not my essential interest, I juste came here to download one unique time some stuff concerning the very very old and venerable Silent Hunter 1 of 1995 (I do not play other new opus : SH 2,3,4,5 etc).



So, I wanted to make one unique donation for subsim because this stuff for SH 1 is not awailable on other web sites. I doubt I will find in the future other stuff here for SH1 because this opus is no more played by lot of sub captains :D

I've just noticed that in the user control panel, it says my subscription will expire in oct 2022. Is that right? I didn't know they expired at all.

If so, what happens when it expires? How and when do i renew the subscription?

Come on Guys cough up. All those downloads and upgrades and security fixes don't grow on Xmas trees like fairies. It not all THAT much to send Neal a few dollars. I have several websites and a forum - they are not bloody cheap to run. My British Army forum cost me $140 to buy and $50 a year to maintain it. My sites ( more than on my profile) I run single handed. Luckily I have a reasonably decent pension.

A few months ago, I initially set a $5 bi-monthly donation and then I almost immediately did the Overlord donation (I didn't see that option originally or I would have just done that :oops: <ahem>). I promptly forgot about the $5 donation. Going forward, can you cancel that please?

Now I get an email from paypal saying there will be automatic payments every 2 months and any change can only be made by contacting SUBSIM directly. So I need your help to cancel the recurring payments please!
