I've just downloaded the file "Q-Ships for GWX3.0" which is a '7Z' type.
Which folder does this file need to be in ?

The download info tells me to enter some lines of text into certain locations, this I am ok with, it just doesn't say where to put the downloaded file.

Thanks in advance
Kev.

Where you have your other mods, and then activate them with the Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME) Program Files / Silent Hunter / Mods.

I've put it in the 'Mods' folder but it isn't listed in JSGME.:-?

Ok, how did your install?, Folder should be in the path as above ... could it be that they are on the desktop, in that case, you move on them to make it right...

It has to be 'unzipped' first. If you don't have one, you'll need a program like WinRAR http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html to extract the mod prior to enabling.

Enjoy! :sunny:

That did the trick, I do have 'Free UnRaR' but it didn't want to know, have now got '7-Zip' so I'm now equipped :salute:

Thanks for all replies (I'm not as clever as I thought  )

One thing you might come across as you unzip more mods is sometimes the actual mod folder is zipped up inside other folders - making it confussing if you automatically unzip everything straight to your SH3/MODS folder. It doesnt happen often, but sometimes you'll unzip something and it will be contained within its own MODS folder, or the mod folder will be doubled up - ie "your_new_mod/your_new_mod/data".
Out of habit I find it best to unzip everything to the desktop 1st so I can see straight away how the folders are set up and then just cut and paste into the SH3/MODS folder.

Sorry it's not a very clear explaination, but if you come across a mod that isn't showing up in JSGME for some wierd reason, most times it's due to this.

Happy hunting! :salute:
