I've made this a double post to cut down on topics!

I've been playing SHIV for nearly a year or two now. And one thing I've noticed is that storms in my opinion are rare and the most i get is fog and some stronger winds.

1. Is there a way to edit the amount of storms one would find them selves in?
Storms were a common accurance, expecially in the pacific and across the world.

2. Is there also a way to increase the strength of the storms but set it as random rather than just one strength?

Now to the physics

I've noticed that in SHIV the rough weather really doesn't effect ships of greater sizes than subs, and also when turning they should at least pitch and lean.

1. How would i edit a ship to pitch either heavily or not during rough or calm weather?

2. How would i get a ship to lean to it's left when turning right and vise versa?

lots of work has been done in this area but overall it was determined that ships would sustain damage and even sink from rough weather but not in the right ways, some ships sink in moderate waves others never and having ships sink before you even get in range of them just to have bad weather isnt any better then no rough weather.

to get things right the entire list of ships one by one must have its damage models redone and nobody felt like spending 2 years of their life working full time 8 hours a day (guestimate only) to get it right.

sadly its just a game and will never be as accurate or realistic as we like and realistic floatation, damages, and sinking behavior just doesnt look posible so we must be happy with what we have and to some extent with the right mods its not too unrealistic

Then how about getting a ship to lean when turning, is that at least possible

I was under the impression that winds were limited to 15 m/s, and that this was the factor that prevented realistic weather. Can winds be set to greater than 15 m/s ?

Some years ago a modder found out how to raise the wind speed in SH3 to 45 m/s. Unfortunately he also found out that in a career it resets itself to 15 m/s when you reload the game. His solution was to make all the waves twice the size at the same speeds. This later developed into the Sea State options in SH3 Commander.

Unfortunately (again) no one has done anything similar for SH4.

A small group of dedicated modders (Sh4 modding community at "large") can only do so much before most of them burn out and move onto other hobbies or pursuits.
