View Full Version : Radio Stations Mod?
Hey there, long time lurker first time poster.
I can't seem to find any mods that add a variety of radio stations in with various WWII era music. Would be nice to have a station that plays French music of that era on one station, German music of that era on another station, and English music of that era on another station. Other stations offering music of that era from other nationalities would also be awesome - like Polish, Russian, etc. but all on various stations. Has anything like this been done already? I've done a search but can't seem to come up with anything other than SH4 Pacific radio stations offering Hawaiian music and Japanese music. All I'm using is the Magnum Opus mods 1+2 (or is that 2 on top of 1?) and it's a most excellent compilation of various mods. It's definitely what stock SH5 should have been.
Thanks for any help! :salute:

Thanks mate! And fast response.
I've got plenty of music for the gramaphone already left over from my SHIII days but the first link appears to be what I'm wanting. Do you know this includes a variety of music from various countries or is it just strictly German music of that era?

Yeah, I'm surprised an multi-radio station mod hasn't been made yet with location transmission range.
I don't have enough of a selection of music to make it myself unfortunately. I've got a lot of gramophone files from a long time ago for Silent Hunter III but most of them are English songs and there's a few French ones and a few German ones all mixed together.
But it would be cool to be near lets say the coast of the UK and hear pro-British propaganda radio and music but if you go so far away from the coast the signal starts to crackle and fade away. I'm not sure the game engine would be able to render this but an outside script might be able to. And that's way beyond my scope though. I've just seen how games like Fallout 3 and New Vegas have a dedicated mod community (like this one) that have created some sort of "script extender" which allows extra functions to work within the game. Apparently this game has a the ability for extra scripts to run as well as I've used the automated harbor pilot mod within the Magnum Opus mod that allows it.
But I'm more of a dreamer than a doer so pay no mind to my feeble requests. Thanks for the links. That's half of what I wanted and that's a lot better than nothing so I'm not complaining! :|\\

What about this one: Radio Paris (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=164021&highlight=Radio+Paris)

Mod like this has been made in SH4 or SH3 workshops and it is compatible for SH5.
Name of this huge file is: Rel_SH4_Trans-Atlantic_Raio where last word meant to be "radio"
I've got it downloaded but never bother to install - it's almost size of the game itself.
Use Goggle search for the name of the file - it will kick you in right direction.

Although I don't play SH5 myself, so I don't know if they're compatible or not, you might want to check the link in my sig below. I have a Russian station there, which is one of the stations you said you were looking for. While it is based on the Pacific coast of the USSR, that shouldn't make much difference.
Here everything is for the radio station of allies.

Hey guys, just wanted to thank everyone for the helpful links to these VERY useful radio and gramophone mods. Brings "Pimp my ride" to thought! Pimp my U-boat! LOL! :har: Now I feel like my floating/sinking Das Jukebox is something the entire Kriegsmarine will envy.
