Just a random thought as I was playing SH3 today.:88)Has anyone thought of doing away with the hud completely.It seems the game could be setup like this since when you click on individual officers they turn and look at you and their options pop up and also your view centers on them.
I always wonder if we should have access to all info say on the deck for example.When on deck the only options you would then have are what the WO has when clicked on....nearest visual contact,weather,various crew on deck features(maybe crash dive button also)and then the few gauges that are on deck like the speed setting and compass which you would have to actually view yourself.Should you have everything else onscreen?Would make the command room seem more functional.
When in command room you click on the officers to access their functions.The only issue I see is that the radio and hydrophone operators are in another room so you need to jump to that station.Kinda ruins the effect when you wanna quickly ask the SO to track nearest warship etc.Or maybe a hud with just the officer faces at bottom?
