Real Fleet Boat stability issues

Hi all. I absolutely love Real fleet boat v2.0+patch using steam. But it crashes every patrol and usually when i try to dock at the end of a patrol. I was wondering if there is anything I should know when using steam and this mod. Since the mod starts up and runs for a while it makes it seem that the mod is installed correctly, but the instability is weird. Any ideas or similar experiences?

I use an older and heavily modified version called Surreal Fleet Boat.

I hate to ding on the obvious, but are you patched to the correct
version of the game for the version of the mod your using ? its not that
you shouldnt be, you probably are, but its always been quircky in that way.

Thanks for the response Mush. Well I thought I did, but it turns out that it is still version 1.3. That being said does anyone know how to update SH4 in steam? it doesn't seem to want to and Ive read you cant manually install the patch.

I remain uncertain that the game would care too much.
these are game files not net files ?

Well I managed to update the steam game to 1.5 but it crashed again halfway through the patrol. Im not sure what a net file is. Care to explain? Thanks again Mush.

steam is a something I dont use for d/l protocol, being a dinosaur I still
go out and get my circular shaped shiny rock thing with game on it and
put it in the coffee holder.


My RFB is 1.4

I think you said 1.5 was valid for yours, but dont recall.

its possible something else conflicts, was there a previous TMO on
this install ?

A couple ideas:

What are the circumstances when it crashes? Is it always the same situation?

Going from v1.3 to 1.5 and trying to continue an existing career may not be possible. Try to play a new career and see what happens.

I think I just found the problem. I have steam automatically keep SH4 up to date and whenever it looks when the mod is installed it tries reinstalling files and it gets all messed up.
