Gentlemen, I think that if those magnificent two projects would become one, we would have the unimaginable (until a few weeks ago) opportunity to play SH III in a way that would really blow our minds! Even Zen Master Caine's "Realistic Reloading Times 2.0" and Aces' "Aces' Super Turms v5.1 and Super Pens v5.1" (just to name an additional couple, there are a lot more) are something very interesting that might fit very well in this potential megamod. And all those new ideas implemented on a GWX (or even LSH or WAC) base would really make the maximum from SH III.
Hans Witteman and h.sie , have you thought about this opportunity? I don't know about the other members here, but for me It's really sad to see that there are a couple of modder groups and more than a few modders going into individual directions instead of uniting their efforts. I know, it's not easy to coordinate a big team efforts, there may be a lot of different points of view arising and so on, but still ... It's such a big potential that is somehow wasted in some degree.
And this (maybe rethoric question) is not only addressed to Hans and h.sie, but to all the modders being active here. Please don't get me wrong gentlemen, I am not telling you what to do, but I am just wondering why this or some similar attitude related actions are not happening. I may be naive, I admit it.

Though I very much like your idea; I think the HAHD project (as well as H.Sie's project) are already in a state of development that it would be really difficult, if not impossible, to merge them into one.
I follow the Hahd-thread closely, and if I see how much work is involved already, and how much time it takes, I can imagine that the prospect of weeks and weeks of extra work wouldn't be something the Hahd team is looking forward to....

Hi mate,
Unfortunately there would be too much work to retrofit everything in each mod i already told that many time and also it would probably break some functionality or features in U-BOOT_HAHD also i won't have time to do this.
But with permission from h.sie we will probably included the one that will not modify our game mechanic if it possible.
There is many school of tough here also, some like to play ultra realism other like to see the visual experience so we cannot please each one of them but i sincerely think that the U-BOOT_HAHD team will bring you a good balanced.
We don't want to make our mod oriented on pure hardcore player nor arcade player but more oriented on the overall experience and with unprecedented visuals design.
Personally i won't make a patrol in real time ever only nuts do that:har:
We have to keep in mind that it is not a sub simulator it is a simulation of a simulator.
And working with people who have different point of view on game play is some time very hard to accomplish.
When you start a megamod once you are very far in the design process you don't start back from scratch.
Wait until our mod is out and give it a try and i am sure you will enjoy the experience.
U-BOOT_HAHD is not only about graphical everything is modify including the game mechanic.
Best regards Hans
I agree with Hans. Merging would hinder his and my progress without any advantage. In my opinion there is even no need for merging, since AFAIK my work is compatible to every supermod, so users of Uboat-HAHD can use the sh3.exe patches if they want. If they don't want to use them, they can leave them out. This freedom of choice would be lost when we merge. Although both Hans and me are trying to make the sim more authentic, we seem to have different main focuses. That is good for the sim, but hard to handle regarding a co-operation or similar.
Edit: Hitman (one post below) is right: One of my fixes, the Realistic-Repair-Times, is NOT compatible to NYGM Supermod, but due to Stieblers great OptionsSelector tool, NYGM users can simply disable that specific Fix but use all other Fixes. Thanks again, Stiebler.
Absolutely agree with H.Sie  The beauty of his fixes is that they are modular and adaptable to any supermod or even the stock game. This ensures the broadest possible band of users and that nobody is forced to resign playing his favourite supermod just because of willing to use the fixes. As Stiebler has already done for NYGM, there is simply a list of what you must or not enable for compatibility and that's all. Hans will do the same with his project, and everybody is equally pleased. :yeah:
