How about a Polish submarine campaign representing the Polish submariners that fought in the Mediterranean in World War II.

Polish submarines played a significant role sinking Italian ships in the Mediterranean. So much so that there were two Polish submarines called the "terrible twins" by the British because of their exploits in the Mediterranean.

The Polish submarines were named ORP Dzik and ORP Sokol. Boleslaw Romanowski was captain of the submarine Dzik in the Mediterranean. The Polish Navy in Exile had submarines lent to it by the British. The served alongside the British after escaping from Poland in 1939. Their captains were aggressive, like some American captains.

There was the legendary submarine Orzel.

Orzel discovered the German invasion of Norway. The Polish Navy had 6 submarines loaned to them by the British. Orzel sank the troopship Rio de Janiero in Norwegian waters on April 8, 1940. Orzel was captained by Jan Grudzinski. The submarine was labeled as a British submarine by the British radio. Germany had believed Poles were totally finished, when in fact they were not.

The Polish Navy had some good submarine captains. So how about a Polish submarine campaign?

Sokol spent 642 days at sea and sank 42 ships, which is pretty significant for a submarine tour of duty. It played a role in destroying Axis supply lines in North Africa, along with British submarines, which helped the British win in North Africa that sank many Italian ships and prevented the Axis from having the supplies necessary to win the war in North Africa.

The Polish submarines were called "terrible twins" because of their significant exploits against the Italians. Sokol sank several cutters.

Three days later on 7.X.1943 she sunk ex Italian troop, under German flag Eridania [7 095 GRT]. After this Sokol was moved to Aegean Sea. The task for Sokol was easy. She had to destroy German navigation between islands. Already on her first patrol, on 11.XI.1943, Sokol destroy, by artillery, little German cutter Argentina [64 GRT]. On that same patrol, seven days later [18.XI.1943], she sunk another hostile cutter, this time ex Greek one, sailing under German flag. Next day in the Sitia Bay [Crete], Sokol meet two German schooners, which were sunk by torpedoes. In the same time Sokol's torpedoes destroyed three more cutters.

Thats some inspiring stuff

And I'd love to give that a go. In the middle of the ocean, no country left to speak of, nothing to lose, and a lot of Germans to kill.

Send some of your wild and crazy women to boost the morale of our naval forces.

One New Year's, years ago, I was in Vancouver, British Columbia, at a pub. This cute woman has a strange accent. I asked what her nationality was. She said, "POLISH. Ya Want to Fight!":haha:

Shame, people should hang on to these things... (Like I hung on to Dragon's British U-class boat.)

Right, it is what I've mentioned.
Whatching this video pushed me to the idea, if Lembit submarine from the Battle of the Baltic will fit as OPR Orcel, weren't they both a development of British L-class?

"Orzel" was built in Holland, to a Dutch design, by the "De Schelde" shipyard in Vlissingen.
