View Full Version : [REQ] 3d sphere in .obj
Hi all,
I try to import with S3D an 3d object in *.obj but have error message "invalid index :damn:.
If I try to import an exported object (with s3d) it's ok ???
Please, could someone accept to make me a simple sphere with radius 35 meter in game unit ? :yeah:
Many thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Jean

Did you triangulate the model before export?
Hi Skwasjer,
First many thanks for your helpful reply.
Secondly, many, many thanks for S3D this incredible Silent hunter modding tool. Without it, SH3, SH4 and SH5 would never been what they are.
thirdly, 3 days ago I watched your band's single. I love it very much. Have you make a CD ? You really must to be knew !!!
About your question, no I haven't triangulate the model before export. I use blender and I am a newbie with it. I will have a try and I will tell you the result.:sunny:
Another time many thanks for reading and help,
best regards,
:salute:
Jean

If you have problems during creating DC from scratch, simply copy the appropriate node (Ctrl + Shift + C) from an existing file and paste (Ctrl + V) into your file ...
Then copy material too...
Then change the IDs for new nodes and import your model (mesh) into new file.
For example, copy from DC_X_H.dat DC_X_H node and normal material.
...
On your picture type of mesh must be 6 or 2 (your value is 3)... and material for DC is absent... it may be reason...? and may be need add chunk Type 1002, subType 0, dataSize 0 - it's End of File.
Dear Anvart,
Many thanks for your help and your reply. I admire all your work in modding and your tallent even if sometime I am unable to understand your posts and advices.
I will try tomorrow, because today I am with all my familly.
Best regards,
Jean
