Geolocation is a rather secret feature of some browsers and toolbars. It allows the creator of that program to get a fix on the location of your computer to within a few meters of where you actually live. Ha! People complaining about the security issues of IE all the time, and now it turns out it's the only one not spying on you. :haha:
Knowing where you are has always been available via trace route and your IP address.

I remember a lot of people used to put up your address or IP in their sig. That little smiley guy holding the sign?
So this looks like it's dependent on googles harvesting of wi-fi points?
So if your router isn't wi-fi?

Then they can't triangulate it and have to resort to the regular IP trace, I guess.
Not as accurate, but plenty accurate for marketing purposes.
