Hi folks,

A few things I've been working on for the next Super Turms 5 and Super Pens 5 GWX releases.

First off Super Turms 5 additions:

In the Type 7c-1 Conning Tower when submerged "Now you see 'em":

Thanks to Diving Duck and Anvart for the great help with the dials method of hiding/showing objects. The UZO and MG34s appear/dissapear at 7 Mtrs thus:

The dials method works very well, I'm very pleased with the results.

I removed the detonators from the torps, thought that'd be safer :)

I'd love to go on boards a sub my friend. It always looked really odd when the UZO and MGs were still in the conning tower when surfaced.

Now for some new stuff for Super Turms v5:

I've added my updated Mannschaft model/texture as featured in Super Pens as a crew on deck on the type 7C1. It uses Anvart's Statemachine method and functions exactly the same as his flag/pennants/DF antenna mod, eg. the crew only appear within a certain radious of port when the Watch Officer is on deck and only above the water as the get very damp otherwise :)

Too bad the crew is too delicate to get wet, ;) but other than that - very nice work.

Back to Super Pens 5, it's amazing what you find when you poke around in DAT files isn't it. Found this super Alsation dog, movie camera and tripod and cameraman. I did an Alsation dog texture to go with it.

I don't mean to be picky, but can we call him a German Shepherd? Seems only fair seeings how he's standing in Germany. :haha:

Just joking, call him whatever you like. I only mention it because I was discussing this with some English friends the other day. As a result, I looked into the background (of how the different names came about) and found it interesting.

Glad you like the new additions of the Alsation/German Shepherd Dog/Canine and the camerman :)

The camera really should be an Arriflex but this one will have to do but maybe I'll add the Arriflex logo later this evening.

As I've already got the Old Man and Werner in so I thought the cameraman really ought to be Wolfgang Petersen so I made a few changes to both the camera and cameraman textures, a sort of cameo apperance by him to complete my "homage" to Das boot :).

I love attention to small details, they all add up to greater immersion in my book.

The original dog original cameraman/camera models and textures I found in a mod by Maori. I've given credit in the readme for super Pens 5.

Hi folks,

Just a quick update.

I think I've done just about all that I'm going to do for the new Super Pens v5 GWX mod. There was one new feature which I would have dearly loved to include but as this now look to be impossible at least for the time being so I just about ready to release and should do so this coming weekend.

All being well that'll leave me time this week to finish off Super Turms v5 for GWX and it might be possible to release this also this coming weekend or sometime next week otherwise.

A small note on installation for these mods.

Super Pens 5 GWX should replace Super Pens 4 GWX so simply remove Super Pens 4 in JSGME and activate Super Pens 5 in it's place.

Super Turms 5 can either be activated on its own using JSGME or, if you are running v1.3 of my Multi-Mod Compatability Mod, then Super Turms 5 should be activated AFTER the multi-mod comp fix mod using JSGME and let it overwrite any files hat it requests.

Please see the documentation supplied with both mods for information on other required mods etc., however, please note that these requirements haven't changed from the previous version and only need to be heeded if you are activating for the first time, also please see my news link in my sig for other install-related information.

Yessssss I am also looking forward to install your mod....It just so happen that because of unknow error or mistake I made adding mods to my game...which I have been running since GW3 was released, I had to completely delete & reinstall Sh3 & GWX3...so Now I am reselcecting all the mods & GUi I like and reinstalling very carefully on that fresh game...So I am waiting for this release.....Perfect timing Aces !:up:

I've re-done my crew on deck uniform textures which will appear in both Super Pens 5 (on some of the docked u-boats) as well as in Super Turms 5 crew on deck in harbour feature to look a bit more true to life.

I've based these on Raptor's excellent grey and grey leather uniforms and, when finished the three officers will wear the leather and the other ranks the grey cloth uniform sort of as shown below. I'm not trying th get them an exact match for Raptor's as the 3d Model would need extensive editing but, IMO, they do look more realistic.

Hans Solo's original animated sub pens had a "Mannschaft" on deck on the moored u-boats. Some while back I expanded this by re-doing the 3d model to remove the original caps and replace them with officers' caps and side caps as well as increase the number of crew members on deck and have them saluting with the correct hand. At that time I also re-did the texture as I did with the "Herr Kaleun" and Werner 3d models and textures but I thought it needed another overhall for the new versions especially for Super turms 5.

And I'd be a bit displeased if he ripped her off.
She flies in the K-Ships.

I presume you are reffering to the dog model which I found in this mod:

Maori - GWX - Schleuse - Holtenau

It's in a DAT file named "Animal_life.dat".

I has a plain black texture and I redid the texture to a German Shepherd.

I don't want to offend anyone and I'm happy to pull the model from my mod if requested, likewise I'll happily credit whoever's work as is customary.

The German Shepherd is one of the black color changes.
