What bosses made your veins pop out in utter frustration?
What boss gave your sorry a**e the biggest hiding, even bigger than your momma used to give you as a kid?

Anything in Touhou. However I haven't played Touhou, just watched aghast at the videos and made small weeping noises.

For games I have played...hmmm...

Necron in FFIX was a bit of a sod, Grand Cross was annoying, but I did beat him without much frustration.
I can think of levels that have made me tear my hair out in frustration, but those games didn't really have bosses per se...although I guess you could count the end level bosses in Hunt For Red October as a boss type battle...and they were annoying.

Had the tread's, "headline", mention your five hardest moments on women, it would have been easier :O:

Bendak Starkiller and Malak from Knights of the Old Republic. And the first time I tackled a corvette in Star Wars Galaxies. And Ravenholm from Half Life 2, that whole level was so hard for me to get through it might as well be a boss :haha:

I'm gonna go with Heroic mode Lich King 25-man, unbuffed! And in practical terms what this means for me that is not initialized, :hmmm:

World of Warcraft, my friend.

25 man raid attempting to teach the Lich King a lesson, with my guild.
We failed miserably, many many times.
Victory came, but, it was too far into the future at that time:O:

Yes, Cataclysm is here, the Lich King is dead. Once and for all.

Mike Tyson in Punch Out. Never have beaten that bastard.

Nilhilanth in Half Life 1 - a giant baby kicked my ass!

Gothic. The whole game is one freaking big boss fight mostly due to its horrible controls and a braindead main character apparently made out of paper, no matter what armor he is wearing. "Ooo, cute little bunny...OWWW STOP HITTING ME! OH GOD YOU HIT MY SPLEEN!! IS THAT MY SPLEEN I'M SEEING THERE! GAH, A POTION, I NEED A PO...
[*Splat*]
["You died. Reload?"]

I struggled trough the first one and finally completed it. I tried playing the sequel and found out that the combat system was even more horrible than before and that the character was obviously made out of a ten thousand years old papyrus this time. Just couldn't take it anymore.

A shame, since both games are actually very good, if you forget the combat, which means about 95 % of each game.

Final Fantasy 10, the boss you fight aboard the flying ship. Never beat it, guess I should've done some more exploring and leveling up before that point. :hmmm:

Most bosses in Yakuza 3.

Other than that, I can't think of any.

Hmmm... I only got to him on ten man regular... but I quit the game before I downed him.... my only regret in leaving that game is not getting that title...

Anything in Touhou. However I haven't played Necron in FFIX was a bit of a sod, Grand Cross was annoying, but I did beat him without much frustration.

Really? I found Necron fairly easy, auto haste, auto life, auto potion, as many anti status ability I could use after using those 3 auto ablities left Necron dead at my feet after around 5 mins. And I just started FFIX over again too, looking forward to beating him again at the end.

Hmm boss fights that made me want to scream. Well the plant boss at the start of FF IX has made me want to tear my hair out in frustration due to his cheap and lucky hits on Vivi, downing my main damage dealer in the fight.

Ridley in Metroid prime was frustrating as sometimes the controls wouldnt respond so I couldn't manage to dodge fast enough.

The final boss of AK, the one that inflicts insanity. He was annoying as a mage as I suck at kiting so I'd get taken down by the shades before I could be rescued and resulted in 5 wipes before we called it.

Some others, cant think of them offhand.

Sephiroth in FFVII. First time I played a FF game, so no fancy stuff like that Knights of the Round, barely strong enough to take him on. Took me half an hour and my entire supply of megalixers and ethers, lot of phoenix downs. T'was glorious.

Finishing him off with omni-slash, which I had never seen before, was just bloody awesome.

Guess you can rank the weapons as the others. They were pretty tough unless you really grinded up to high level.

* ah there's also that materia keeper, just after visiting Cloud's hometown (or was it Zack's?). Was stuck there for ages, untill I realised my fire magic was healing the bugger.

That robot just before taking the sub took a few tries too, did a lot of damage when he fired Lapis Lazuli.

Yessss. I remember playing this religiously on my ps1.
And yes, Sephiroth was a pain in the backside.
Many many fails before getting passed him.
The controller was suffering badly, my fits of rage clearly evident to those around me.

I found the boss fights in Painkiller to be really hard on the higher difficulty settings. Other than that I can't think of any memorably difficult bosses. After 20 years of gaming they all just sort of blend together in my minds eye to form a single massive health bar.

Call me a noob but I thought Assassins Creed end boss was friggin hard! He challenges you to a fight then sends like 20 of his men to fight you first then he joins in. What a cheat!

Reviewing some old videos triggered a memory...yes...

MiG-29 Soviet Fighter...

Awesome music...but aaaarghagharghgurgle...a real sod...

The bloody Badger on Mission three, it would get me nearly every single damn time...that's of course because the Tu-22M end boss of mission one would always take away a life or two from me, as would the boss half-way through mission two. So by the time I get to mission three I've got at most two lives left...which that sod then harvests from me. :damn:

Oh oh oh! Driver 3, the truck that drop bombs!

I remember that one as well took me hours to complete.

Not really a boss. But my hardest was the final level on Commandos Beyond the call of duty.
Took me months to finally get right.
