due to some recent thread or threads i've put together just a few pics of sh4 with operation monsun as to give some insite on the game and maybe inspire some to mod alittle in it. this is not to try to make you come over to the dark side or prove some rediculous point or get in the middle of anything or shove anything in anyones faces, eyeballs, etc, but to give some community members new or not an idea about it. i've been thinking about doing this in other forums too to try to reach out to the community because of another thread in ato mods "future of operation monsun". i think this is a good start for the sh fan that doesnt want to worry about the internet thing that sh5 has come to sway some people away from and it brings some features up to date. any person who wishes to have more info on this mod can easily visit the silenthunter iv ato mod forum and find the sticky. i know this is odd being in the sh3 forum part but heres the link to view the pics. i had to put them in a rar file because file shack said the pics were too big to upload( i spit on thee!:damn:) but what ever. enjoy the pics.

I...can't figure out what you are trying to say, other than the fact it's an SH4 mod in an SH3 thread.

What he is trying to say is basically the same thing I was trying to say in my post.
There is an ATO in SH4 it has alot done but still needs work. We would very much like help in making this mod better and feel that the SH3 modding community has slot to offer us in terms of experience, advice, knowledge ect on things regarding not only modding but what they look for in a Uboat game.
We are hoping to inspire interest in the mod and encourage any ideas people here might have, and welcome help if it is offered. Very simple very self explanatory.

Ahh, thats alot simpler. The way he wrote it was horrid, or atleast i think so.
Good pics!
I rarely come here to make personal comments...I saw on another thread a question on why we don't mod Sh4. Well, at first I'm sure that a lot of ppl already modded Sh4. And very skilled modders for sure! So, perhaps Sh4 also have find it's modded potential limit? See, even here in Sh3, apart the sh3.exe patch, damage by fire and new interiors mod, nothing really new happens since some years (also the majority of sh3's mods was also made for Sh4).
Another reason is that Sh4 have not a better game play than Sh3. It's almost the same (better here, worst overthere). I myself only will invest my sparse freetime in a so time consuming task (mod work) in a new submarine game that really have a new challenge gameplay, I mean, much better than Sh3.
Anyway, again, good pics!;)

(also the majority of sh3's mods was also made for Sh4).
Actually that's our first complaint. Very few of SH3's mods have been done for SH4. The LSH3 and WAC harbors and Kiel Canal bridges, most of the ships and planes, just for a start. None of those cool things are in SH4. And especially SH3 Commander. If ship names could be applied to SH4 I could do so much more toward giving specific names to specific countries.
Stiebler has said that Lurker applied NYGM's AI to Op Monsun. I don't know anything about that sort of thing, but I'm willing to take his word for it. But there could be so much more.
Another reason is that Sh4 have not a better game play than Sh3. It's almost the same (better here, worst overthere).
Except for the much better crew management, the crew-adjusting 'Battle Stations' function, the much better way it handles the merchant ships (you can actually add many new ships with much less loading problems), the way it handles the 'time spent on station' functions and reasigns you to new patrol zones when you report in...there are many things that are better in SH4. They made a couple of things worse for no apparent reason, but I'm hoping they can also be fixed.
There has been some new discussion on the SH4 boards, and I don't plan to pitch this case here for much longer, but I did want to respond to your comments on the differences.

Being one who did work on things for SH4 with The Grey Wolves Team?
There are a VAST number of things that can be done yet!
Some of the things are so outside the normal ideas it would make your head explode!
A few examples I gave to the HAHD Team.
One thing I can say about Modders for SH3 verses Modders for SH4.
Most Modders for SH4 started from scratch.
Where the SH3 Modders had years of time involved.
The SH4 Modders also faced new issues that SH3 Modders never faced.
S3D came along and for all the good it actually did?
I saw so much confusion that I could not keep up with it.
Those days are gone now. (Thank the Mayans. They predicted S3D!:haha:)
It is no longer a matter of 'will you help'.
To me it's a matter of unfinished business.
There are things I started for GWX 4 that I want to finish!
As such? They will be credited to the GWX Team.
I could not even start to say what any one of them suffered.
I'd be a total Arse (Well, I am anyway) to forget them in any manor!
@SS, privateer,
Good to know these things. I must confess that i never played Sh4 so much, just tried OM and give up in SH3 flavor.
Anyway is hard to understand/accept the idea that a lot of good modders that worked on Sh4 for so much years didnīt have made almost all the possible with itīs engine. Of course new mods always can arise but so radical to really change the actual state of things? I hope so!;)

Just as Sh3 is "no where near it's limit" neither is Sh4. The engine update for 4 allows more growth than it's predecessor. And that's all I got to say about Vietnam.
