I have made a perfect sound for guns on battleships, the sound is from the 16 guns on the Iowa. The sound is very loud, as it should be. The problem is that when my ships fire, there are no sounds. The file is in .wav as it should be and it is 8 seconds long, just as stock sounds. I also checked the SH.sdl to see if my sound was there, and it was. Still, ingame there are no sounds, why? I need help.

if you have a different filename than stock, you need to
register it in the particles.dsd.
it's not enough to have it in sh.sdl.
easiest way is to replace the stock files, in your case
i think it should be "P03_$Big_muzzle_flash.wav"

Replacing all the soundfiles for the big guns was the first thing I tried, no sounds.

Just changed the file from stereo to mono. It worked. Thanks for the help, soon everybody can enjoy the sound from real guns.
