stoianm EnvWeather V1 SH5 mod.
This mod reduce the ,,weather change interval'' mostly in winter, spring and autumn seasons and this way you have better chances to have less fog days in row in game and the weather become more unstatic.
Install last after other Env mods.
Install with the mod enabler(jsgme)
anytime eithert in port or on patrol.

Mod test version - reduced at minimum the time interval change for winter, spring and autumn in polar and temperate - try to see if the fog days in row frequency are reduced (i am not sure just i hope that - must be long tested to see if really work so i need feedback)

Tested the mod all day long and so far is working as intended.

My biggest problem, that annoyed me very much, was the fog. Days after days all Ive got was only fog. Light, medium, heavy, blue, red, pink .. every possible type and color of fog and mist but sun. Now this has changed and finally I got a lot of sunny days but also a lot of clouds and high waves. Hope that soon I will get through some heavy storm too :P

Thanks for the mod, much appreciated!

happy that you like... i wish to be able to control the random factor of the game who give us the weather type but is far away for my limits... maybe someone with good programming skills will do that one day

Might give this ago actually. There's no question about the frequency of fog being to great, but my main weather issue is the lack of rain.....after 36 days at sea in two patrols around the British isles, i've yet to experience a single drop of rain!

Infact, if you could swop the current fog days for rain, you would have something approaching the real british weather pattern!

Ive had nothing but rain! Same mods too! Its all random man, you will get soaked one day.

Ive had nothing but rain! Same mods too! Its all random man, you will get soaked one day.
But i describet that it is all random... i can not change the random factor... it is hard coded... what this mod is doing... i will explain again:
for example:
the game gives you an random weather type and is changing this weather type after an time interval... the time interval has an min and an max..
this was setted all over the place at min5 and max 96 hours (and you must know that the game can give you the same weather type manny times in a row... so if the game pick up the max 96 hours and give you the rain weather type 2 times in a row you will have more than 8 days in a row rain...this sucks

what i did ... i reduced the time changing interval so this way the weather will change more often... you have the chance to have also much rain or fog but not so manny days in row (i observed that manny times when the weather type is changing you will have only the speed of wind changed:D)

i know someone that succeded to control this random weather factor in sh3... i spoked with him but unfortunately he is not playing sh5... so until someone will take a look at this problem... this is the only thing that can change a bit the weather in game

Now this weather issue is really weird and also annoying. Yeah, the weather change more often now but.. it changes fog with fog in my case. It jumps from heavy fog to light fog. I know the game engine control the weather, but lately I play only in fog. Since September 43 until December 43 I saw the sun only 3 days, no rain or storm. It seems that Im trapped in some kinda loop here.

I find it very hard to play the game in this condition, I need to abort all attacks just because I cant see anything. I wanna see the horizon again and I cant figure out a way to do it. Maybe I need to wait for the summer :/

:haha: - i know... i observed that the random factor when is changing the weather type manny tymes is changing only wind speed... i suposouse this random factor give you 80% form time maybe fog in wintter season... you can make the timing change interval to be like 3 hours and see if you increase the sunny days chance:)

i added a mod test version where i reduced at minimum the time weather change interval... see post 1 for details

So far im impressed. In my two patrols approx 36 days at sea, which i spend a good deal in real-time i've never witnessed any stormy conditions or a a lovely sunny calm day.

Within two days of installing your mod, ive had a lovely calm sunny day and even a small but amazing lightning storm for a short period (i did'nt even know it was in the game, so that brought a smile to my face.)

However, i did notice something....it was a reasonablly nice day (not cloudy) then there was a slight pause and then the day went a little darker and lightning started, this coincided with the blue atlantic sea colour changing back to the green colour?

It was strange, beacuse the weather did'nt really corrospond with the lightning, and the water colour change was odd?, not long after, it went back to being blue again and the lightning was gone.

I've still yet to see any rain in the game though!

I haven't tried this mod yet but I plan to after I get back into port again.

I have a question about loading saves and the weather. It seems like the game doesn't save weather conditions. Sometimes I will save the game and when I reload the save, the weather has changed drastically. Is this a stock bug? :hmmm:

Hey guys,

just an idea, since I don't have a clue how the weathersystem works for SH5, but as seen in the options in TDW NewUI for Historical Missions, there is a way to set the weather.
So we need to find a way to read and set all weather related data. A script loading and saving this to a file shouldn't be a problem then.

But I can be heavily mistaken!

I was thinkig at this also... but they are saying the weather random factor is hardcoded in game... so maybe only TDW can do an invers computing in the game engine and fiind an solution:D

Ah I see! That could be possible!
He probably would have done it already if it was this easy!

Digging through exe files and trying to figure out what is going on is very tedious and time consuming work. It took me over 4 months just to get the sh5.exe patches we have currently :-?

Yes, I can imagine that! Exe files aren't as easy to read like a txt file :DL
