MISSING NAME'S MOD OF A FEW ASSORTED THINGS FOR YOUR EXPERIENCE IN PLAYING SILENT HUNTER III WITH GWX

VERSION 1.1 IS NOW AVAILABLE

So yeah, this is mainly a sound mod at the moment. I'm still trying to modify other things, but it's not going to well at the moment.

GramPaKs: Sorry if some of these overlap with songs you might already have...
GramPaK 1: More modernish music.

GramPaK 2: More traditional music.

ACHTUNG!

So I've made a little bit of a modification here. As you might have guessed by the obnoxiously long title, it changes a few things here and there.

Some improved/new sounds:
- Got rid of the annoying "DIT DIT DA DIT DA DIT DIT DA New message received!" sounds.
- Crash dive and regular diving sequences modified a bit. Don't worry, it still has the characteristic "AAAAAAAAAAAAAALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARM!" from Gibraltar.
- Added some (read: a lot) of gramophone tracks. When I'm feeling less lazy, I'll list them all.
- Assorted sound effects have been replaced, such as guns, a few hydrophone contacts and the big explosion.

Tweaked renown values for what I consider capital ships:
- Aircraft carriers are worth more. 1500 for large ones, 800 for escorts. (Graf Zeppelin not included.)
- The old Revenge and Nevada battleships are worth a bit less, seeing how they were on their way out at the start of the war.
- The Georgios Averof is now worth 1000, seeing how important it was to the Greeks.
- The HMS Hood is now worth "only" 1500. GASP!

Configuration files:
- The ammo loadouts are less realistic. 300 for 8.8cm, 200 for 10.5cm. Because the deck guns are just so much fun...

And as an added bonus, you can now have Quote and Curly Brace from Cave Story painted on the side of your conning tower. Look for "Zitat und Lockig" in the emblems section.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

To install:
- Copy the folder to the MODS folder.
- JSGME.
- ?????
- Enjoy! (Remember to add up the number of times you dove to the number of times you surfaced. Divide by two. If it's not a whole number, don't open the hatches.)

You might want to make backups of your files. I can't be responsible for any errors that might occur due to you installing this mod.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks guys!

I'm already finding new stuff to add into the mod. I like the chugga-chugga-chugga of the trawlers, but I've found an even more accurate catachugga-catachugga-catachugga. Lots of those boats are run by diesel engines similar to the ones used in U-boats.

I'm currently working on how to open the .raw files in the game. They're image files, but it seems only Photoshop can open them. I can bug the school's art department and see if they have it.

If it doesn't open with Photoshop, I will be somewhat displeased at Ubisoft.

Good to see you're still at it...

Thanks for the latest version. I'll download and take a look as soon as I finish up some gramophone mods I've been working on. Cheers and thanks for all the hard work! :sunny:

A preview of what's to come:

The Commerce Raider

I'm making a new version of the recognition manual. Instead of the high-quality "photos" in the stock version, I'm making all of the images line drawings in a manner similar to Jane's Fighting Ships. The bottom page will have armament info and details on distinguishing features.

I have 14 done. I estimate I will have to do about 150 more. (I'm still waiting on a possible job application.)
