Hi:

VII-C Skin by Naights v1.0 (Standard conning tower)

IMPORTANT:

1: The mod replaces the standard U-Boat colour so you NEED NORMAL paint applied to your sub
2: ONLY COMPATIBLE with Standard conning tower and Type VII-C sub.

NOTES:

1: The mod replaces "all" submarine exterior textures, including exterior woods and deck
2: Install it with JSGME, or backup your files first.
3: Screenshots are taken with the shadow map Mod by Danevang so if you dont install this shadow map, NO EXTERIOR PAINTED SHADOWS !!
4: Screenshots are taken with W_Clear: Environment 5.0

IMPORTANT:

The submarine exterior textures are affected by the color environment !! so for example in a sunrise your submarine will be more yellowish/brown

I started designing the conning DDS with a resolution of 2048, so I leave it at that resolution for the release, but if anyone have memory/performance problems I can switch to a lower resolution, honestly there is not much difference visually.

For now I have to finish VII-C skin because have some bugs and want to change some things, if I have time, then I'll see what I can do with 1943-45 skin.

That looks like the VIIB skin I have been working on. I liked the staight lines versus the other camo patterns available. I hadn't intended on putting the "squiggles" on it though. Pics:

It is a frustrating reskin because of the mapping issues with the conning tower on the starboard side.

I start skin design @ 2048x2048x192 resolution like you. (5 Meg Filesize)
If I remember when I am done. I resize to 1024x1024x192
Then create new image @1024x1024x96 resolution.
Copy from image that is 192 dpi and paste into image that is 96 dpi.
New 96 image retains the crisp image quality from the 192 dpi source but file size is like 4 meg smaller when saved. (683 KB to 1 Meg Filesize)

Yeah, it is probably a bit too late for praising a mod released back in 2011, but oustanding work anyway :D
