Anyone..little help?
Weird as it sound for a single player game.. servers are offline. For maintenance probably.
What really sucks is that we have not lawyers playing SH5. I would love to sign a lawsuit against Ubi :P
From ubi.com:
This website is currently undergoing maintenance.
Services will be restored at approximately 5pm GMT/12am EST
It would be okay if it were some multiplayer game but this is totally unnecessary!! :damn:

I read somewhere that a bunch of people wanted to do that - but sims that when you install the game and the steps ,,i readed the term and condition - i agree - install - next'' are done no way to pursuit Ubisoft (in the ,,term and condition they are covered for everithing and you just agreed with that'' - a dirty trick!
Best regards!:salute:

Hiya's,
Unless i was dreaming i heard that in EU countries, the commission was thinking about going to make it less restrictive by clicking and accepting an install without reading all the smallprint
eg: you buy a game, start install and generally accept anything so as to install it, by doing this now you are contracted to the whole mess therein
But if you do the same sometime in the furure and the game etc is really not fit for purpose (buggy/downtime due to developers, hmm ring a bell ?? ) then you might have a case as to be dropped from any guff you've actually contracted yourself to
Lets face it, the EU wastes billions a year on protecting morons lol, so maybe this moron protection will help us gamers ;)
Food for thought

That remaind me of something funy.:har:
Few years ago i went to the ,,futureshop'' - in downtown Montreal and i bought a game. i went home and opened, installed, played for a whille and observed that the description that was printed on the cover was far away from what the game was able to do.
So i went back to the store and tried to return the game - in first place they not agree (policy: if you are open a software product you can not return).
This was my first year in Canada (i was emigrate from Romania - and in my natal country people are a little bit diferent from Canada - here people are more ,,indulgent'' - they give up if you are argue a lot).
So, having the romanian stile of behaving i argued with them untill they returned me the money!:har:
Now i changed but somethimes i am thinking that is better to be like not to accept everything!:hmmm:
Best regards!:salute:

No can play here either, but they just dumped the "always on" part of the DRM. You still have to be able to logon to the server to start the game. :dead:

Yet again i feel ripped off by Ubi.
We all experienced the fun in this DRM. Next time Ubisoft releases a new game most of us line up again in the stores! ;)

Servers still down..well..this U Boat captain is a lawyer..however...dont think it would do much good...we all would be old and grey before anything was accomplished. With these server issues...one day we wont be able to play the game after all...and after all the hard work the modders did and I did getting my game all set up just the way I want it..a shame!

If you read down you would have noticed that i reported that over 2 hours ago ... what are they playing at . Taking the piss
Silent Witness is on at 21:00 GMT :O:
Where I work 24 Hrs notice + signed customer (very antiquated word that) permission is required before making an application unavailable. UBI - Bad practice:nope:
Why does Ubisoft still have this signon DRM. The game is selling for about 15 bucks. What pirate is going to try to copy and distribute it.

I dont think UBIsoft is just going to go fold the tent on this game..they do have a lot at stake with their reputation with other games..however..I agree that this is pretty dismal customer service to sell a game..and then let you play it "when they get around to it"....

Will be glad when its up and running.want to try the TDW mega mod..and I must say SH5 in its MODDED form has really become my favorite SIM to play..hands down..its really fantastic..however..I stress..ONLY has it become so with the help of the modders...I think the designers of many of these games would be best served by hiring some of these talented people!
First off....
I LIKE sh5 !
( But DO NOT SUPPORT the DRM!!!)
Now we discuss how great the Software has become.... due to COMMUNITY support, While the "Servers" wont let you play.
And ya gotta know... One Day the Servers will NOT come back On-Line, What Then ?
So Who is the Pirate Here ?
The guy who enabled you to play YOUR PAID FOR software, but busted the EULA......
Or the Company that took your money.... Gave little support.... And KNOWS that the Server will not live forever .... why support a 5yr old product, when they could just sell you a new one ?
Blurry Line I suppose...
:o
Glad I was gifted my Copy !
Sh4 was/is enough for me, and No DRM !
Love to Play Sh5......
But cant get behind the DRM with my $$$$$.
Anywyas............

Agree..eventually....Im sure all support and "servers" for this game will be dropped..sad..as I still play some old games..panzer elite...and others which I really like..but which do not require this nonesense...somehow/someway there has to be a way we can enjoy this game down the road/years without relying on UBIsoft an their servers..otherwise the game will just become door stop..not that many games after years dont end up their anyway..but I'd like the choice to play or not play the game be mine..and not determined by some bean counters at a company who decide to pull the plug.

I can understand obvioulsy if one wants to play mp..but I play only single player..ie...no connection required..the darn game is already code protected..so why this nonesense? ANY game that exists I've seen the Russians pirate (lived in Russia) regardless of these things..so why not just let us pay our 49.99 and play the game without this stuff? I've bought EVERY one of my games (probably spent couple thousand dollars over the years) and Im not interested in anything but legal software...I paid for it..I should be able to play the game..and not wait around till these people get their act together..

I agree. I am against piracy. But the manufacturer must ensure the quality of their products.

My personal thanks - "The Grey Wolves" team. Wonderful project. Radically modifying an original SH3 game. Ubisoft simulator creator may have been taken from GWX:)
