Some pictures of the current status of the new juliett model of mine, which will replace both the old standalone version and the CWSS`s. yap, this will run in shIV. ill have the hull details added as a separate node and not as part of the hull,but the game can handle that many triangles.only change to rl will be, that the 4 launchers for the P-6´s will be lifted separately, not two at a time as it should be(fore and aft container).yes i have been at Peenemünde.twice.

This thing will look freaky when those missile bays open up. Good work.
Edit: What if you set up the torpedo tubes so, say, opening tube one would raise the missile bay and open the hatch on the left-hand missile tube, but opening tube 2 would just open the hatch on the right-hand missile tube. Players would have to remember that tube 1 controls the launch bay, but it would allow the entire bay to raise and lower at the same time. Could that be done, or would the game not accept something like that?

This is the sexiest sub I've ever seen in SH4! It's long, it's hard and it's full of seamen!
Will this be available for download alone or we need to wait for the entire mod later? Jhapprich you should also ask someone to make Russian sailors for your mod while you are working on all these subs.

yes, there will be a new interior.i have the new consoles and equipment modeled already and the command room`s interior is done, but i am finishing the sub at the moment. when you visited the U-461, i hope you bought the book about the P-651`s there.i used it for making the mod and it is simply great! best regards

this is really great news, do you actually plan to model the interior of the whole boat?! As I also did a couple of things regarding modelling interior I know how much work it is... Yes I bought the book and it contains very interesting pictures and technical details.
Is there any chance your wonderful boat will also be included in one of the mods dealing with Cold War?

i installed on a completely clean (and just re-installed) Sh4 1.5
CWSS is the only mod on the modlist in JGSME or whatever.
I can now get most of the boats running in just the fleet overview, but starting a campaign or running another mission generates that error.
and also, can someone please change it from German. :shifty:

first, there should be a US_menu file in the Menu-folder, which can replace the german one.second the test version does not have a career mode, third, since i am making my own typhoon, i have no time left for karle`s.
ps there is a minor fix for the juliett available. extensibles are still dummys.
and no, yamato, the juliett is not done yet and the current cwss is not a beta.

well, despite my previous post, there`s news about the typhoon, and i guess, you`ll like it, yamato!
i`ve downloaded that model you are working on from sketchup warehouse, too. i rescaled it and put the meshes into groups and compartments as usual, afterwards i imported it into SH and took some shoots of the raw model. altogether the model is quite well, but ill do some smoothing and details. ps many thanks to the author of the original model for making his work available!!!

gotcha, im in the process of making it campaign playable, if you come up with a completely new version of the typhoon, ill send you my career start/flotillas.upc files, it contains starts for the Delta IV, Oscar II, Juliett, Victor III, and of course, the Typhoon. :up:
EDIT: i D/Led it, but when i start a career, it Crashes.. ill look into it.
P.S. its nice to know that now someone (meaning, you JH) is actually making a fully featured typhoon
IMO, the other SH4 versions were too dull, no VLS tubes or extensibles,
BTW, could you make it so that the radio antenna can have you transmit radio messages underwater?

nope, making radio available while being submerged goes beyond the game engine`s capabilities. ps this isnt a finished mod afterall, i only replaced the model of XPetit`s Typhoon fx with my own.

JH, ive noticed that the most the boats will rock in game is about .5degrees roll, and about .25degree pitch (both ways). im guna try to fix this....
IMO, nuke boats should have ATLEAST 2/1.5 degrees of pitch/roll movement in rough seas. :nope:

P.S. i also want to add a snorkel to the Oscar II/Akula.... can you give me details on how to do this? (i plan on replacing a mast.)
P.S.S. when is the Typhoon emerging from the drydock? im very anxious to see the results

keep in mind it was an explosion INSIDE the pressure hull, there was nothing to compensate the stress from the shockwave.an exterior detonation would damage both the primary hull and exterior conduits etc., but the surrounding seawater would absorb most of the energy. so maybe a oscar could survive a torpedo hit, however i think id would sink by the secondary damage the impact caused.

ok, ive done a little handy work reguarding the command room interior,
ive basically taken the interior for silverwolf's Interceptor sub and put it in the Oscar II, Golf II, Delta IV, Victor III, and the Kilo
and when i get my hands on the Typhoon thatll be my next interior replacement.

well, it will be equipped with my standard SLBM and have SET 53-65` and Shkwal`s. ill see if there`s time to add the 650mm heavyweigh torpedos.the sensors will be the standard type you know from my other mods, and some dummy masts to keep the original look. speed surfaced 18 knots, submerged 26 knots, max depht 400m. i`ll have to divide the missile armament into three
salvos, since i cannot add 20 single tubes due to game engine issues.basically i stick to the projekt 941`s official spec`s.

Very true. After any sub taking a torpedo - save for maybe a Sea Wolf or Typhoon, it couldn't do much. Probably just blow ballast and remain on the surface long enough to get the crew out.
And to be quite honest, if I were in the control room after a torpedo hit and the captain DIDN'T order an emergency surface - I'd open the valves MYSELF - order or no order.

so this is how the big T looks by now.ive added my good old beta-texture and equipped it with the proper masts and weaponry.i also totally remade the sail founding structure , the rudders and diveplanes and the stabalizers and fins.smoothing the hull is another story and will take som time... but you will have a new career-usable beta release in a few hours!

since today i had a lazy afternoon, ive made a career playable fun submarine. i call it projekt 669. since the soviet navy newer had any sub of that project number in service, it`s totally fictional.howewer it is usable for the us campaign and based on the good old skipjack`s filework. the hull is made by me, based on the 3d study of a new RC Sub i want to build.
ps its meant as ssgn but i havent added the launchers yet...

i remember when i looked at the CWSS files, some torpedoes, sensors, and other equipment are replacements for german equipment.
so its necesarry to move them to USN nodes, which i am bad at... :nope::rotfl2:

a german campaign-standalone for the juliett ssg is available. sensors and snorkel are working now and the proper torpedos and missiles are available in base.however i wont continue the custom interior for now, but the extensibles and the front-door-array will be updated next.

I have no idea what they "require", since you cannot find helpful "help" on their web site, and I don't do internet playing with it anymore. From "searching" with a web search engine, it looks like most of the folks wanting to play are using v1.5 (Wolves of the Pacific with the add-on UBoat Missions). But SH4 has had multi-player all along, but didn't work "reliably" (supposedly) until v1.4. I'm not sure you'll be able to do multi-player on the German side of v1.5 over a LAN or WAN...
