Greetings.
:yeah:I saw a post from the excellent work done by Xenomerv and commented on the floor of the submarine.
I was looking for information about it and I came across this picture:

On this photo I'm doing the textures of the floor, I have not finished yet:

:hmmm:I would like to help me with regard to a file I do not know, you see this file which I am modifying is floor_metal.dds, and there is another file that is the floor_metal_N.dds. My question is, how it is done this file floor_metal_N.dds?, is there any tutorial or is made with the Gimp or Photoshop?.
:06:Excuse my ignorance but is the first time that manipulate this file type.
:-?Excuse my poor English ...
:salute:Thanks...

Nozaurio,
If you want, you can send me your texture for the floor, and I will make a _N.dds to match it.:yep:

@ Nozaurio : i can't help you, but let me say that'll be a nice cosmetic mod, which is really needed for "cosmetic realism" in SH5 (for my opinion).
I always found that the vanilla floor was unrealistic and too brand (not really, really dirty enough...)

In the original Type VIIC, there are 3 styles of floor plate. Below are two if the internal plates, the third style is used external.
The first picture is from a Type IX, and I believe there internal plates style was different.

:up:Thanks friends for your good comments and for your help.
:hmmm:As you can see, the job is not finished, I see that the floor also was protected by layers of paint, not a fact that color was, and seeing the photo in black and white, it was not dark and much less unpainted metal. I put a color which I think was very similar to the walls of the submarine, a creamy white color and a nice addition to dirt.
:yeah:NZsnowman Thanks for your interesting photos, but unfortunately not really know what were the original colors, I tested an infinite number of pages which have done research on the internal color of these submarines and no outlines what color was the floor.
As we know, these boats were repainted several times both at home and abroad, perhaps for maintenance or repair and rarely used the standard colors of each object inside due to hurry to return to these submarines to combat.
:up:Privateer program interesting, thank you for this information, the Njobe is very intuitive and easy to use.
On the other hand I was researching on my part on a NormalMap plugin for Gimp, which is the editor I use for excellent and I found this which I share with you:
This is a small tutorial on how to convert an image to NormalMap in Gimp, but unfortunately the plugin download link is down:
http://davenunez.wordpress.com/2008/07/21/using-the-gimp-to-create-bump-maps-for-fsx/
This is the link to download the plugin for Gimp NormalMap apparently also works for Windows 64 bit:
http://registry.gimp.org/node/69
Tomorrow to download and install it on my Windows 7 64 bit, and informs them if it worked.

There is also an excellent NormalMap Generator/DDS plugin for Photoshop if you can't make it work with Gimp.

:up:Thanks Pintea, if I saw it, I think Nvidia is a plugin for use with Photoshop, I did not know was that you can use the Gimp as well.
I have no Photshop due to its high price, I prefer the Gimp, which I think is an excellent program ...
:salute:Thanks again for your comment!
