I've had a google account for ages, never had any issues with it, I use it for Email and google voice has its advantages (Free texting woo)

Haven't found a use for google wave yet though. :hmmm:

you should be able to bypass the Google and just sign in. I have FF to auto sign in maybe that's why I never get the Google message.:hmmm:

It just started doing it. It (youtube) kicked me out and said I had to create a google account to access my account.

It does have a lot of nice features, like Web History.

Yes, I know about the privacy concerns, but I figure I use Google's search engine so much, that they pretty much have my web life down legally or illegally. Might as well get some good out of it.

Yeah I hate it too. Google now wants to know your ip and your username when you use their search engine so that they can relate your searches to you DIRECTLY.

Google has grown too arrogant. I wouldn't be surprised if the company now is linked to CIA or intelligence agency.

Don't sweat it Niki, I have a Google account and can do things like change the default Google background screen, makes a vast improvement to stock!:yeah:

@ Reece, that looks really cool that background
Link to image at all? Or is that inbuilt with Google options?
Wouldn't mind slotting that one into my Win 7 theme.

Edit:

I'm still able to log in. Wonder if they tracked me through the gmail account that I haven't used since... '06?

Gmail has had this for a while, and it is possible to bypass without problems, and set up filters for spam-related problems if desired, :yep:

I use Gmail exclusively. My ISP provides an e mail address which i have never once used.

the good thing about Google is that every email exchange you ever have is saved.

I have had to go back 4 or 5 years and find information i had emailed to someone once, and just by searching the subject matter of the e mail or the persons name it came up within seconds.

also, gmail is extraordinarily good at determining what is spam and what isnt... and it separates them and chances are that 99% of the spam you may ever receive NEVER sees your inbox... every other e mail service i have ever used SUCKS in this department.

Also, there is the video chat which i have not used, OR you can make phone calls to any local number for free, and long distance calls can be made for a small fee. The calling feature has come in handy when looking at order history and confirmation numbers in my e mail while also having to call customer service... or while using the calendar portion of my gmail to set up students with a flight schedule while sitting at the computer on the phone with them at times when my phone might have been in another room or something.

I dont really have anything negative to say about gmail:up:

Don't have this problem myself. No gmail/google account etc.

I sometimes get asked when I've cleared all my browser cookies (ff) and have to log back in to youtube manually, but most of the time I use a speed dial bookmark for my youtube account.
When it does ask if I want to 'link accounts' or whatever I just click the 'continue to account' in very small print somewhere on the login page. iirc.

It is the "isn't" part that's more impressive - I can pretty much trust Gmail not to throw your real E-mails away as spam. I'm not so sure about others, so I prefer to deal with spam myself.

Join the dark side Jaeson!:D

Serisouly what is the worst Google are doing with all the data they collect? Allowing their paying clients to see that you get off on submarines and civil war recreations? SFW they can put ads in front of you but you have to click on them to make use of them

Privacy is overrated anyway.

Don't forget about iGoogle, set it as your homepage then add gadgets/website links and create your own theme, give it a name then add your theme image to iGoogle themes for others to use.

Seems to be a damn cheek to me, tell them to fe*k off.

Or as from fawlty towers, waldorf salad episode, the American guest...

"What you going to do Fawlty?"

"I've tell you what your going to do, your going to bust his ass."

Ha, steed, it's funny that you brought up this thread again:D. I cleared my cookies out of my computer, and google didn't like that and it wanted me to re-register my account:shifty:

The creepy thing is, I've never logged into google using their/my account, but it does it anyway:o. I'm at work now, and there it is my google log-in:o. Google knows its me somehow!:06::shifty:
