:wah: Don't know if there is a tech help section elsewhere, but I thought I could start here.
I was well into my 4th mission in a career (SHIII+ GWX Gold 3.0) - 2nd Flot out of Lorient. Doing OK (about 9000 reknown on 90% realism). Lots of awards, promos and skills and saved the game (third save for this mission).
I had just completed successfully against a small convoy heading north near the Canary Is (2 large merchants & an empire freighter) and the 1 escort had just departed after successful evasion for a couple of hours. I saved and exited, having decided to re-start the career at the previous save, so I could instead go after a large convoy also headed north about 70km away that had been reported simultaneously to the small convoy. Wanted to take them on with my full load.
That's when disaster struck.
When I selected the previous save, and clicked OK to the 'all subsequent data will be lost' (or whatever it said) pop-up box, the game crashed, with the SHIII has to close - we are sorry for the inconvenience do you wish to report - popup box. OK. No sweat. I have had that occasionally. But, when I re-started, it appears my entire career is gone. The 'Saved Career' text is greyed out, & doesn't respond to repeated attacks with fist on mouse.
I had a look in the career data folder under the career name and it seems large and echoey and distressingly empty, with only for small, lonely files in there.
Am I doomed to start again as a lowly swabby? Give it to me straight, doc.
