Attention on deck
:salute:
At ease, men!!!

Today, I give you my run silent run deep (lookouts below, clear the bridge, honk, honk, DIVE!!!DIVE!!!) , (Surface Secure from Battlestations!) and (Dive Dive!!!) voice files, with noise attenuated, dB level increased, for your ultimate pleasure. I only ask someone assign them to these commands respectively, Crash Dive "C" , Secure from Battlestations , and Dive "D" in stock 1.5 vanilla, so we hear them on pressing those keys, give commands...

And please feel free to include my name in the release..

Clear the Bridge (http://www.mediafire.com/file/cd19m3qc8k6x0p6/Clear%20bdg.wav)

Secure and Surface (http://www.mediafire.com/file/70k4imb36h136o1/Surface.wav)

Dive!!! (http://www.mediafire.com/file/xoio1jh4l6hyyd6/Dive%20D.wav)

Would make out fine! One more thing, is there a way to fix the thread title bug? It's stupid overlap makes it not worth hearing..

Cheers:salute:

All you need to do is go to the sound file and use the same path for the existing file with you new one. For instance the S key is the surface command and controls the "Submarine Surface_Int" file, so you would rename your surface command the exact same, cut and save the old one under another name somewhere and then just paste the new one in and it will show up where it should. You can do this with all of the wav files, but time limits apply or you can make a folder and bundle them and make them jsgme. I've changed most of mine, but still fine tuning it for as much realism as possible. It's fun replacing all the electric, fire, depth charges, thunder, wind, ect...with different stuff you can find on the net.

Have you checked all the sound files in the mods area, most are in gameplay, mostly old WW2 movie sounds, glen ford, gable, ect..

I did, and also, the mods have this clear the bridge file, only sounds very recorded. I want to ask how to make the JSGME thing? Say I rename these files to the ones in the sound folder. JSGME is the perfect way thanks to you. But I dont know in modding or doing it JSGME way.
One more thing. Is there a way to change the torpedo textures to the ones at my signature? the black and gold tipped head one? or is there a mod here? I know for SH5 there is.

Just have to create a folder system

Right click on DT and make a new folder -new/folder, name it to your mod, say Alive Sound Mod.
Open that folder and create another one inside of it and name it Data.
Open the Data folder and make another folder inside it named Sounds.
Place your sound wav files inside sound.

So you basically have a mod folder that contains a data/sound folder, with your wav files inside the sound folder. Place your mod inside the game mods as usual.

just make sure paths and names are correct and make sure you install it after other sound mods.

Do I also erase the game sounds from root folder, the ones I'm about to replace I mean? Or would JSGME overwrite or take the original files elsewhere/ deactivate them for my sounds to work?

I cut them out and paste them in a seperate folder in case I want to use them again, but this isn't using jsgme, just replacing files. I think if you do it with the jsgme they should overwrite, but you still need to use the same exact name and path and jsgme should overwrite them. I haven't done it that way in awhile, but think that should work. I'll play with it tonight when I dock and gonna add some sounds.

You can use a thumb drive to copy and paste backup file to. This way, if something goes wrong, you have a complete copy of the file just a thumb away. I have a 32GB thumb drive that I use for that very thing, though you may only need a 4 or 8GB TD.:salute:

Thanks Werner!!! I'll keep that in mind. Well, I actually got to changing battlestations, and secure from sounds (cuz theyre wav), but the commands for dive, surface, and crash dive are assigned to different folders within the Data/Sounds/Speech folder. As well as P, S, K which I dont know except from listening to, that P is Panic, K is Kool, and S is stealth (meaning whispers). I renamed the same file for Crash Dive and Dive, and Surface using P,S,K, for a total of 9 files, plus BS/Secure, but only Secure worked, and BS worked. I put all files in a folder called Real Voice Mod/Data/Sounds. Imported via JSGME, and it played only the two.

Do note, that I converted the wav files for Dive, Crash Dive, and Surface to Ogg from Wav since its the game format. I didnt erase the game files. What am I doing wrong?

Are you playing wit the speech files or sound files. Not that sound doesn't contain speech, but has other sounds, speech is speech only. How are you binding keys, for instance the P is default for periscope depth connected to a speech file.

I'm messing with Speech folder inside Sounds directory. D for dive, S for surface. Battlestations works ON/OFF.

Have you tried binding your sounds to the sound files instead, think most start with Submarine_

the game kept crashing...

Hard to know exactly what you're doing. Some of these sounds get tricky and it takes trial and error. Make sure you use the same bitrate, compression, channel type (stereo or mono) as the stock file. The game allocates buffer coded for size for sounds so they don't walk on each other, so if a sound is too long or even too short it could crash or the sound bind up. Why I will play with sounds one at a time unless someone else has tested it, if one fails, then I can look at it again instead of trying to figure out which one it was.

Are you just using the 3 listed in your first post.
