as tdw said, we have endless possibilities in sh5, i want to provocate and ask, why there is no building site on old style crew management.

it simply makes no sense as it is in sh5. it is unrealistic only to have access to officers. so, what about getting back your whole crew? what about sending skilled crew man to repair-teams and certain crew members to the flak?..why not to decorate a non-officer skipper for his good duty on service?

yes, it is realy missing... ithink what the devs did in SH5 was because of the deadline they had to deal with.

I have not found where the devs made anything related to this available in the script editor. We have access to all the crew, I can get info about any crew member but that's about it - just info.

First and foremost one would need to understand the inner workings of SH3's crew management system (on a code level) to even begin to try and make something like that for SH5. That requires source code or many, many hundreds of hours reverse engineering the SH3 .exe files to figure out how it works (even if you could do it).

The way SH5 is with the ability to walk around and interact with the crew I would find it hard to code something like this. If we had access to source code we could figure out/implement just about anything.

In short, I don't see SH3 style crew management ever being implemented in SH5.

You'd probably have better luck looking for SH4's crew management, since SH5 is built upon SH4. Besides that, Sh4's watch rotation was a vast improvement over SH3's style of manually moving the widgets around so they could sleep.

The special abilities needs a complete rewrite . Get rid of the points system . Have everything based on morale . Make everything active abilities .

yes, youre right! i meant SH4 crew management. its an optimized version of the very fiddly sh3 management. sure, i meant this.

BUT

as everyone will agree, we need an overall redesign of the SH5 crew management, right?

Yes, of course ....this is SOOO needed. crew management at the moment is a broken joke.

yep. but this is impossible...so far. tdw confirmed, not everything is possible.

and i do not see a change there in the near future. to less modders, not enough help from the devs, no support from ubi, therefore not enough skills = no real changes to the game.

sad, but true.

redesign of the interface and some alternate missions (open game to 45) are the main contents we can change + some greater adjustments to the graphics. thats it. no BIG MODABILITY as claimed from ubi in the beginning...just limits again. more than in sh3 or sh4.

I can see some improved Crew management with the upcomming more crew and some underwater love mod. It wont be liuke sh-4 i think , but maybe some crew rotations.
