Forgive me but I know little about ATo and new to OM.

Current career began in September 1940 and current patrol is Feb 1941.I ran into a convoy at night in North Atlantic, tried for night surface but a pesky escort ruined my approach so I dove went under him and got inside the convoy.Ended up sinking 8 ships for 51, 000 tons, many with one torpedo thanks to magnetic exploder.

Now here I was in middle of convoy tearing it up and not one escort bothered to come in and check out what was going on.I noticed this last patrol also so I installed the LE harder escort patch that comes with OM and still no real action.Seas were calm and sonar conditions were ideal. Also noticed a lack of air patrols, so far only encountered two planes, figured would be more.

So question is, does the game get more difficult? Escors get more aggressive and dangerous? More planes.Guess Im just used to dodging escorts in TMO.

ATO doesn't really pick up in difficulty until 42. 43 will be a bear, and 44 is a mother F'er. First few years of the ATO is pretty much a cake walk. Personally, i didn't really enjoy the ATO until 42 and operation drumbeat. Up until that point, its a shooting gallery.

This is not what you face with convoys in SH3_GWX even in 1940

Pictured:
Me, playing GWX 1 or 2, making an undetected withdraw after a successful night surface attack. Yes those are starshell's being shot at where they *think* i am.

So i say again, it's a shooting gallery early on. But then, i know what I'm doing too. :O:
