...and there are more !!!!To be more precise: there are 314 further editions of the War Cabinet Weekly Resúmé! :o
Starting September 23, 1943 and last one is from August 23, 1945.

You have no idea of what you've started with that little link! :stare:

Thanks a lot!

Will report back later with the outcome of ongoing pestering the National Archives! http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z15/subject_rod/smilies/biggrin3.gif

:har:

glad you like it !!!

why do we have to stumble over archives like that by accident only ???

I am still looking for US Navy photographs of IJN subs, details, blueprints, analysis and all, I know they have been released to the public, it's just a matter of someone in the US going to the Library of congress or the Navy and askling for copies !

The USN mission to japan 1946 is but a poor copy, fax quality:nope: when there should be extensive data collected on the subs captured..:shifty:

Right! Work's been done by now. All +5 hours of it! :arrgh!:

I contacted the good folks at National Archives to buy a complete download of the War Cabinet files, but instead they gave me instructions how to download them... :88)

Since the documents are free, there's nothing wrong in sharing the collection, but I simply refuse to upload them!
1.5 GB in total... but instead I can ship the complete collection of 315 documents on a DVD, if anybody wants them.
Of course you'll have to make a donation to Subsim for the service. :salute:

Or you can use this link from my "refined" search...

Thanks again, Keltos! :stare:

A tiny update:

For some unknown reasons Resûmê No. 25, 26 and No. 217 would not show up in the above search.
I've asked the support for this and today the kind people at The National Archives have found the missing documents.

Here's the link, the support team send me today for No. 217:

http://nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/details-result.asp?queryType=1&resultcount=1&Edoc_Id=7962792

And regarding the other missing files:

"For a short period the War Cabinet moved from weekly resumes to monthly resumes but reverted to the old system shortly after."

I guess the War Cabinet was too busy elsewhere for a while... 16th February to 14th March 1940.

Excellent service from The National Archives.

[rant] To thank them I wanted to make a donation for the Archives, but HSBC simply refuses to accept my address :nope:
Usually I spend a small fortune monthly buying stuff in the UK and never have any problems with my MasterCard, but HSBC?
Noooo... we are a worldwide ultra-mega bank and you may enter all your codes and securecode correctly and what not, but your address... nooo... :nope: idiots.
Case pending... [/rant over]
