View Full Version : The old "Can't get depth under keel" problem

Has anything been discovered yet to fix this? So far my searches have only brought up the work-around where you save your game and then reload it, but sometimes this doesn't work for days on end. When I can't get a depth under keel reading it seems that alot of verbal response don't work either, like when you flood a tube or fire a torpedo - I can live without that, but I need my depth under keel reading.

can't say that I've ever experienced this problem. How often does it happen? Is there some kind of pattern or event that happens to cause it to cease functioning? :hmmm:

I had this event it happened after taking a screen shot. I am using the SH5Enhanced version of the mod
by the way great work on this Mod :up:

Happens to me rarely and sometimes for no obvious reason, then after a re start is ok again.
I am running UI U boat 2.2 and mods as below which work perfectly with no CTD and brilliant graphics- are you running any UI mods?

I have done a lot of save and re-load in the bunker.
I noticed that sometimes the piers were loaded and sometimes they were not. Also when they were not, nav callout did not always happen.

I think this is the same bug as the no depth under keel. Could it be related to how much memory everyone has. I havnt noticed since I got my new PC it hasnt happened

I also had that depth under keel command missing at some stage after fiddling with some keyboard mods, but fixed it in Commands.cfg by making/editing following command entry:

[Cmd130]
Name=Get_depth_under_sub_keel
Contexts=1,15
MnID=0x3F250005
;Key0=0x54,c,"Ctl+T"
Key0=0x4B,c,"Ctrl+K"

This attaches the command to "Ctrl + K". Everytime I press that shortcut, the verbal announcement is heard, and shortly afterwards the depth reading is spoken and displayed in the message box.
You must make sure, of course, that the shortcut is not attached to any other command.

That didn't seem to fix it either. What gets me is that some people never have that problem. I wonder what their commands.cfg looks like?

Maybe we should ask TDW to upload his Commands.cfg, as his must be working correctly in conjunction with his marvelous UI mod?
At least it could serve as a good working reference, I guess.:know:

EDIT: Ok after putting in Stormy's DBSM Collection depth under keel started working. I just hope it keeps working.

This still happens to me with my set up below.

It is random, but usually after a reload of a saved game.

To get it working again, you have to exit game and re start.

do not use the w_clear one... it is not compatible with tdw sim... your uboat will jump like a rabit when you change depths

Hello everyone.Need your help guys.I'm having troubles with depth under keel report.I'm modding the game in order to start new campaign-this way I want to thank to all the modders for their effort-the game is finally playable.I'm nearly satisfied with how the game looks like and how it behaves.But there is one last thing and that's this depth under keel problem.I've tried all possible things,installed mods in different order,tried all the fixes I found and still no luck.It works to some point,then I add some other mods which don't even seem to be related to this depth under keel report (like the graphics mods) and it just doesn't work.Obviously I can't play without this functioning properly.Any ideas please?Thank you.
