I have new flags for the Operation Monsun mod to improve the accuracy of the South African and Indian flags. The game's current flags are historically inaccurate for the 1940s time period in which this game takes place. I mean, the current mod flag is the current South African flag, which wasn't adopted until 1994, some 50 years after this game takes place. The flag of India used in this game wasn't adopted until well after India achieved independence from Great Britain, which was after 1947. Well after World War II. Anyway, I have corrected these errors using GIMP file editor. The use of these current stock flags is anachronistic and historically inaccurate. I changed them for better accuracy. Please don't think I'm picky.

Caution.
I have an historically accurate Kriegsmarine flag with swastika. It's not meant to promote Nazism or anything like that. Use at your own discretion. Thank you.

I changed the flags on the recognition manual. Here's what I mean by what I am saying.

Current unmodded flag on Operation Monsun recognition manual, which is the 1994 flag.

1928 - 1994 Orange, white, and blue horizontal stripes, on the white stripe the Union Flag (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Flag) towards the hoist, the Orange Free State (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_Free_State) flag hanging vertically and the Flag of Transvaal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Transvaal), also known as the Vierkleur, towards the fly.

1994 – Present Two horizontal bands of chilli red (top) and blue with a black triangle at the hoist, over all a green horizontal (pall (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pall_%28heraldry%29)) (Y-shape), fimbriated white against the red and blue and gold against the black.

Also, the ANACHRONISTIC SOUTH AFRICAN FLAG on the recognition manual. No offense, Lurker. I'm sorry about that.

You're living up to your name, PatchMan!

Nice job! Thanks!
...Please don't think I'm picky. From what I've seen on SubSim.com, people strives for nothing but accuratesse and correctness, so I wouldn't worry!

Same goes for nazi symbols. Hated, but a must have in the sim.
Thanks for not showing btw.

/edit:
Just had a quick look and may I recommend you to release it JSGME ready?

Nice one Patchman. Those modern flags had been driving me nuts.

I'm confused by this.Downloaded it to downloads, clicked extract here, gave some weird blank files, mostly DDS, which files do I move to mods folder for JSGME enablement?

They are not blanks. If you want to see them as thumbnails in your windows explorer, you may use this little tool from nVidea: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/dds_thumbnail_viewer.html

...which files do I move to mods folder for JSGME enablement?Follow the instructions in the readme. Be aware though that in folder Tnormal, you'll need to insert a folder tex and move the two flags down there...

I see I removed the JSGME-version, but since Patchman didn't object, I've re-uploaded it here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/zdnmzm1ckdv3304/OMflags.zip

One "funny" thing - if you extract with Windows zip, it'll extract to OMflags\OMflags\Data.... but if you use 7zip, it'll extract as OMflags\Data...
Go figure... :88)
