Hi ... am hoping someone can help .... I have seen some screenshots where the crew while on watch appear to have the Das Boot clothes and even faces...... as a result I've just been trawling through hours of search results on subsim and can't find an active download link for das boot uniforms or faces. I swear if I open another thread from search results which talks about Das Boot officer icons I'll go mad (this is not what I'm after).....

Actrually what may be a better quesiton, is what are the best das boot mods which work with GWX 3.0 ... and where are the download links ?

Thanks.

Above you on the left under the name "downloads" bar, where there is a lot of candy, :yep:

Das Boot Clothes:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=992

As Vendor indicates, check out the Downloads section for more.

Click on Downloads, then Silent Hunter III, then Graphics mods. Lots of options there for changing the look of things.

Thanks for the replies ..... I was using search and forgot I could now search downloads....:oops:

anyhow I downloaded the mod above and installed with JSGME ... however I now get a CTD at program startup. I disabled the mod and Sh3 starts OK.

Here is the mod list which causes CTD;

GW 3.0 plus;

WB & evan82's XXI 1939 v1.3
SH-5 Water for GWX3.0 v0.90 20km Atlantic
Lifeboats & Debris_V4
GWX - OCntact Color
FM_NewInterior_V1.0
GWX - Main movie - 'Da Boot'
Das Boot Clothes.

Anyone have any experience of Das boot clothes conflicting ? I downloaded the mod 3 times in case of any download corruption ... same result - CTD. :wah:

Some mods can have a "conflict" effect, you should know

Honestly I can't imagine what in DB Clothes would conflict with anything in those other mods... did JSGME notify you of any potential conflicts when you enabled it?

The only thing I remember is that when I was using it, the file/folder structure of the mod when I first downloaded and unzipped it was not correct for use with JSGME, so even when enabled it had no effect - but it didn't cause any CTDs.

Make sure the folder structure looks like this:

[Your SH3 Game Folder]/MODS/Das Boot Clothes/data/

and then all the actual data files and folders for the mod should be in that "data" folder.

If there is another folder level in between the "MODS" folder and the "data" folder, the mod will not work properly.

I'm still not sure why or how that would cause a CTD but it's the only suggestion I have ATM.

I will tell you that there is a potential conflict between New Interiors and Lifeboats&Debris, but I think it's only that they both contained a modified SH3.sdl file to control some of the game's ambient sounds... however I think that if one overwrote the other it would not cause a CTD, just cause any modifications from the older file to be lost in favor of those in the new one. (There is a compatability fix for this, BTW, if it is an issue.)

Were you able to run the game succesfully with that same group of mods, minus DB Clothes?

I think the only difference between the sound files in the New Interiors and Lifeboats&Debris mods is the survivors voices calling for help are not present in the New Interiors mod. There may be other differences but, this is the one I remember.

Edit:I downloaded the mod, unzipped it, and checked the file structure, it is correct for JSGME, and from all appearances should work fine.

Yeah, from back when it was being discussed after NI came out, it seemed like the only issue with using both together would be that you lost whatever "extra" sounds had been added by the first one you enabled, because the .sdl file would get overwritten by the second one enabled. It wasn't the kind of thing that would cause a CTD based on a file conflict.

OK, now have the Das Boot clothes working.... my laptop took an Avira AV update, after which SH3 would run without the clothes mod ... if I disabled it worked....

Anyhow, after a reboot, Sh3 works with the clothes mod loaded.... go figure ... AV update prevents a mod for working.

Back to my ogiriginal quesiton - is there a mod which makes the faces look like the das boot crew (and I don't mean the icons) ?

Many thanks.
