I believe the OLC mod removes your sub icon at higher zoom levels.
I don't recall the course line to your waypoint though. I haven't looked at the OLC in some time, so I may be wrong.
Also,
I think you might get some conflict with merged campaign, Black Sea only, and Indian Ocean only mods enabled at the same time. Strange things may happen. It is better to have only one or none of those enabled depending on what you want to do.
:)
Yes, the icons are hidden at deep zoom to avoid too much accurate information about their location. Yet provides general situational awareness at lower zoom. This mod is about manual targeting and tracking targets without much of the game helping you.
The waypoint line is indeed visible. It always points to your sub. (wel the end ofcourse) IIRC the own sub icon was made invisible to not give your position away with super GPS-accuracy. As an alternative, if you CTRL-leftclick on the map then the map shifts with your own sub placed under the cursor.

Thank YouFirst read the GWX3 manual about which of it's mod parts are actually required, and WHEN! The "Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas" mod is not required during the beginning of the war. So too with the "VIIC41 Player Sub". If you don't actually have this type (or will get it in your next patrol that is about to start), then it's not needed. Also with the campaign parts. If your patrol won't be in the Black Sea (or Indian Ocean) then you do not need it enabled. You saved yourself a lot of confusion by enabling the Merged Campaign last. That means the campaign has all units across the world in it. Otherwise you might wonder why it is so quiet in your theatre of operations. But it is also a drain on the system since loading takes longer and requires more processing for things that will never influence your patrol.
Similarly the documentation that comes with the OLC mod should say clearly that if you use it's variation of the "Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas", then the GWX mod part should be disabled. Since it overwrites the GWX part it is probably ok (because it is enabled after it), but makes things confusing.
RTFMs!
