View Full Version : Does the depth look wrong to you?

When I have dived down to nearly 180 meters below and I use the external camera to have a look at my boat from the surface , every time I think my boat doesnt look far enough down.
I always think 180 meters is quite deep..... but to me the scale seems wrong. To me, when I look at my sub at that depth... it seems like my boat is only 60 or 70 m below. Anyone else think this?
When im down at that kind of depth I really want it to look and feel like im deep.

its been a known bug with all the SH series versions that the boat always appears at no more then that deep, i guess its to limit the grafics requirement or something but i dont think there is any way to tweak how its shown.

he's talking about when you are submerged and you use the external view to see your sub.
from underwater move away from the sub a bit to view the entire picture of the sub from periscope depth then go deep as you want to but the sub will never look like its any deeper then double the periscope depth.
so even if you go to 600m deep your external view will still show your sub as looking like its only at double the periscope depth.
you can visually see and watch depth changes from the surface down to about double periscope depth but then the visual image will level off and never show any views that correctly reflect a depth below that.

yes, thats exactly it. I know many players dont use external view but also there are many of us who do. Its a shame this problem isn't easily fixed.
