{Just saw I spelled partial wrong, but don't know how to edit a title..anyone know how, the mods forum has a delete option, but can't find one here.
Subject often talked about and we've often seen SS's with the sun and moon close, someone may have some better than these, but thought I would bring up this old subject.
I doubt many care, but the moon phases are fairly accurate in the game. Now understand I'm no pro, just a novice.
First thing I did was pull moon phase schedules for the time period, obvious that's a must. Another factor is longitude and latitude and the correct times zones, but I checked several weeks. I pulled the moon phase schedule for July 1943 and followed for a week. If it called for a full moon, a full moon was there, all the moon phases were correct for location.
So I got to thinking about those SS's people have posted with sun and moon close and wondered if it was an goof, I don't think so. So what about an eclipse. Obvious the biggest factor is the game itself, rendering both sun and moon in daylight. I doubt you'll see the moon in the middle of the day, but dang close.
I pulled the eclipse schedule off the net, got the best lat/long available for the best GE, then comes time. Time is what is tricky, even though you have a best day, being at the right place helps. I wouldn't say these SS are exact eclipses. I did look in the sky during the day for the eclipse at the right time, however, based on where you are an eclipse can be over the horizon, so after some work I figured a better time and location to catch them on the horizon so the games graphics will render.
I tracked two, takes a lot of work.
Here we go, first eclipse near
Australia. Can't see much, but it's there. It amazed me the things you can't see until you look very hard through your binocs, a glare, imperfection.
I'm sure I'll have to correct some of the SS, and get them in the proper order, probably be duplicates or SS very close. I'll clean it up after I see how it post.

Here is a different one near
Antarctica . I don't think my eyes were fooling me. This one was higher in the horizon closer to the correct time. This one's on the left side. All you can see is a faint outline, but certainly more of an eclipse.
