I have understood that this set or sub it became a museum in the great work they did to rebuild a replica of the submarine, by modern techniques that were used at the time, such as hydraulic systems to simulate movements of the submarine, etc.
They keep it as a museum also due to box office success was this film in its time ...
:up:Greetings ...

This is not a musuem, this film-set was a part of the Bavaria Movie Studios and could be visited.
Since late 2008, this "Das Boot" Set is no longer present at the Movie Studios, it was removed after a dispute with the chief cameraman of the movie.

Does anybody know of the current location, if it still exists?

The film set of "Das Boot" at the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich has been re-opened last year in summer because the legal dispute with Buchheim's widow was settled.
