Time to roll out the nazi accusations.:haha:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101011/ap_on_el_ho/us_republican_candidate_nazi_costume

So, using their logic, does that make hollywood pro-nazi by wearing SS unforms during movies?

Iott said he has been involved in re-enactments on and off for roughly 35 years. He said he has dressed as an American soldier for World War I (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101011/ap_on_el_ho/us_republican_candidate_nazi_costume#) and World War II re-enactments, as well as a soldier from each side of the Civil War. Iott said he could not recall when he and his son joined the Wiking group but that he was no longer involved.
"Never, in any of my re-enacting of military history, have I meant any disrespect to anyone who served in our military or anyone who has been affected by the tragedy of war, especially the Jewish Community," Iott said in a statement Saturday.
During the peak of his involvement in the early 2000s, Iott said he dressed up about a half dozen times a year at the most. He said he wore the Nazi uniform in battle re-enactments, presentations at schools and public events.

I know some people that do WW2 german re-enacting, and they will boot you out so fast if they even think you actually believe in nazism. They make it crystal clear actual nazis are not welcome.

Just desperate mud-slinging.

So does that mean if someone from SUBSIM runs for public office they will be accused of pretending to be a nazi u-boat captain?

 Hysterical bullpoop.

In politics, finding out your opponent is a Nazi, or has dressed up like a Nazi in some context, or uttered the word "Nazi" or even seen a picture of a Nazi is election gold. Just slap that accusation down and ride it.

You guys smell that?? It's a stinch called "Democratic Desperation" lol

So this guy is a WW II reenactor? I guess anyone who does Civil War renactments and ends up on the Confederate side of things is racist too? People are so ridiculous and the media is only feeding this.....it's bull and this guy will prob win the race anyway bc this year most voters are not into the petty bs games.

Anyone notice that the person is a republican politician and one of the peopls raising issues over the third reich angle happens to be a republican politician.
So does that mean the republicans are behind in the polls against the republicans and this is the stench of republican desperation about republicans?

No, because that doesn't fit the narrative they've created for themselves in their heads. It's not "typical electioneering garbage that either side would jump on if given half a chance." In order to square with their worldview, it becomes the "stench of desperation from one side and my side would never have done such a thing."

Some people have never seen an objective fact or held a null hypothesis. You can't reach them, so why bother.

You say you graduated college? If this is the future leadership of the country, I think we are in serious trouble. If you want to be a one-sided jingoistic attack-dog, fine, but at least learn to do it in proper English.

All year, Democrats have been searching for a way to fire up the base and get liberals as enthusiastic about voting as Republicans appear to be. A few weeks ago, President Obama and Vice-President Biden tried the scolding method, but that didn't work.

Last week, the party moved on to a new theme: Foreign money is stealing the election! Obama, Biden, the DNC, and MoveOn.org have all accused the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a GOP-friendly business lobby, as well as other independent conservative groups, of illegally using foreign contributions to influence the vote.

http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2010/10/democrats_foriegn_money_scare.html

The Republican National Committee is filing a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission over what they believe are illegal donations made to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign from foreign sources.

"We believe they have been accepting donations from foreign nationals and excessive contributions," said RNC Communications Director Danny Diaz. He said there were "questions with regards to the legitimacy" of the hundreds of millions low-dollar contributions Obama has received.

Poe's Law points out that it is hard to tell parodies of fundamentalism (or, more generally, any crackpot theory) from the real thing, since they both seem equally insane.

If I were going to troll people, I'd probably go his route. Regurgitate the most extreme party-line partisan outlooks on every issue in an ultra-aggressive manner, dismiss any attempts at logical and reasoned debate, fill my posts with mudslinging and playground-level insults like "libtards" and then for good measure, sprinkle in misspellings here and there. A troll done well enough is very hard to identify as a troll.

EDIT: Not to say Conservatism as a whole is a "crackpot theory." But extreme partisanship either way is.

Voters want touchy feely messages that are short enough to fit on a bumper sticker. The longer and more complex your message is (even if the subject requires complexity, subtlety and nuance) the more likely it is to be lost in the shuffle or be tuned out. People by and large have short attention spans.

Well people do tend to remember when someone is being insultingly condescending to them. The Dems would do well to lock Biden in a soundproof closet until after the election.

That's just politics 101. Have a message that's concise and resonates with people, and stay on message.
