View Full Version : More SH5 UI & Mod Questions

Firstly I would like to thank the SubSim forums for all the help i have
received so far. Without the mods and assistance ive got from SubSim
I believe my SH5 would be gathering dust on the shelf , or more likley
returned to the point of sale. Im just glad UBI dont make motor vehicles
could you imagine it "OH you actually thought the brakes were for
stopping , well thats a feature we're looking into." Dont get me wrong
I think the game is great and Lots of hard work has gone into it but
it seems it was released before being finished.
Anyway back to todays issues.

My sub just wont keep depth properly , once silent running is engaged
it slowly sinks to the bottom. If I increase speed it just gives away my
position. Correct me if im wrong but I should be able to maintain depth
at 2 knts. Is there any mod to fix this ?

Another interesting thing im curious about is the Tally Notepad. Ive only
come accross it once but during a convoy Attack a notepad containing
a picture of a full moon appeared on the nav map screen. Im not sure
if I activated it by accident or what. Could somebody please give me
a run down on its function.

One Last thing for now. Ive noticed my recognition manual doesnt
seem to include all the ships and sometimes need my WO to ID
targets for me. Can anyone sugest a fix to this problem keeping
in mind I dont want to mess up my current Mod Config as the game
is realy stable at the moment.

Hi Stew

The tally note pad is Ottos chalkboard within TDW UI mod.
On page 1 of the UI mod thread, there are instructions on how to use his "Options page". Within the options page is the following:-

Maybe that mod should be sticky, solves a lot of critical bugs with the stock sub...

Thanks guys,

Im back on track now , did have the UBoat Spec Mod just didnt
have it on.

Ill look into the chalkboard , i must have opened it by accident.
