I have a challenge for this extemely talented set of modders. This will take a bit, so please bear with me.

The original design for the Type VII boat had a berthing plan calling for a crew of 4 Officers, 4 Chief Petty Officers, a max of 16 Petty Officers and a max crew of 24 enlisted. This was provided for by a CO's bunk, 3 bunks in a wardroom, 8 bunks to be "hot bunked" in the aft PO quarters, and 12 bunks to be "hot bunked" in the forward quarters. These are somewhat modelled in the game, with the CO's bunk available, 2 of the Officer's bunks available (altho in the wrong locations), and all of the other bunks available but with the CPO's bunks not truly labelled. When you go to edit the crew_career_xx.cfg files, you get the following:

Officers:
00 - Bridge
01 - Not used
02 - LI station
03 - Nav station (should be a CPO, but oh well)
04 - Weapons Officer station
05 - Diesel Compartment
06 - Electric Compartment
07 - Bow Torpedo room
08 - Bow Quarters (should be wardroom)
09 - Stern Quarters (should be wardroom)
10 - Stern Torpedo room
11 - Damage Control
12 - Not used

If possible, I would like to have a new compartment with 01, 08 and 09 added to it - the wardroom. For my purposes these would be:

01 - 1WO
08 - 2WO
09 - LI

In addition, in the forward compartment we have the following positions - 67 through 82, a total of 16. I would like to have 67, 68, 69 and 70 split off and made into a new compartment - the CPO room. For those of us running a historical crew, these break down into:

67 - Navigator/3WO
68 - Bosun (Nummer Eins)
69 - Senior Machinist in charge of Diesel Room
70 - Senior Machinist in charge of Electric Room

In conjunction with something like Flakmonkey's interior (with the hopeful new rooms coming!) this would be a dream come true.

For those of us trying to run a watch system along with fatigue, we could actually set up a three watch roster and move people around from watch station, to an "off watch" place like Damage Control, to their assigned bunk. If anyone is interested, I can use the crew of U 45 (total of 38 personnel) as of Sept 39 as an example (my current boat in W@W5). Later in the war as boats got progressively more overcrowded, this can get to be a real challenge!

Example:
