View Full Version : Honest question ....

Hey everyone,

I have an honest question concerning SH IV. Before I hit you with it I would like to preface by saying ... I have SHIII +GWX3.0 Gold as well as SH IV 1.5 and I play both.

It seems to me (personal opinion, not based on numerical data) that SHIII+GWX 3.0 Gold is =much= more difficult in the area of submerged evasion. I am detected easier, I am kept in contact easier, and ... it seems I am also deep 6'ed a lot easier as well. In SHIV 1.5 most of the time all I have to do is dive below the thermal layer, run silent, and do a minor direction alteration and presto ... they can't find me.

Is this just my imagination or has anyone else also noticed the same thing?

Are you playing stock SH4? If so, get TMO. I understand it's a lot harder.

Hi SS!

Yeah its mostly stock ... I am running some mods ... but no super-mods its pretty much SH IV 1.5 vanilla. (most of the mods Im running are just eye candy)

TMO 2.0 would be much more like GWX, so for a seasoned skipper that would be my suggestion. Much more difficult than stock SH4.
You won't just go under the thermal and turn to get clear.

Ok very cool,

So sounds like I'll be snagging TMO 2.0! Thanks guys ... I was missing the heart pounding, adrenal enhanced "awwww crap" feeling I got in SH III :yeah:

Ugh,

Ok I feel stupid ... I can't find TMO 2.0 in the downloads ... anyone that can help?

I was disappointed by this thread. I was hoping to find the answer to a dishonest question.

Remember that the English crews ASW were much better than Japanese crews. They also had better equipment.
SH4 only reproduces the historical reality.
And then, you're in the winning side, so be happy!
