...you're getting dressed for work, and you notice something kind of "crackly" in one pocket as you're putting on your pants, and when you reach in and pull it out, it's a ten dollar bill. :yeah:

$10 ≈ €10 = 30 beer:hmmm:

You're gonna have one very terrific day:D

The only drawback is that I'm now wondering what I was supposed to do with the money, because I wouldn't have put it in my pocket unless I intended to make use of it for some specific purpose and in fairly short order. I don't carry money loose in my pockets otherwise... and when I do put it there, it's supposed to remind me not to forget to do whatever it was I needed to do with it.

So, on the one hand, TEN DOLLARS!

On the other hand, they say the memory is the first thing to go. :O:

Well, our local Oktoberfest is this weekend... but I don't know if I'll go, since everybody I'd normally go with is working all weekend.

Anyway, the beer lines there are WAY too long. It's so sad. Last year I had to make do with Jägerbombs. Altho I have to say, they are the perfect drink for when you want to get really drunk AND stay awake to enjoy it. :O:

I think you were to give that to TLAM, hold on I'll check with him...

I wonder why I didn't just let you keep it? Must've been something of a disappointment, I'm usually a pretty good tipper. :O:

Oktoberfest in SW Ohio is a biiiiiiiig deal.

The one in downtown Cinci is reportedly the biggest in the US - at some point the mayor of Munich supposedly declared it the biggest one outside of Germany, but I don't know if that's still the case. Oktoberfest Zinzinnati will be getting underway in three weeks or so, which is closer to the "proper" date, but there are numerous smaller affairs scattered all over the area. Nobody wants to compete with downtown, or with too many other 'fests. So there's probably an Oktoberfest somewhere around here every week, starting with Labor Day weekend. I can think of at least 3-4 off the top of my head that are 20 minutes away or less. :D

Well, that explains why there's no pyramid on his bill. He cut too many corners in the construction and it fell down before they could get a picture of it.

That's probably why the aliens had Burr shoot him.

True, but a real ten is always better than an imaginary fifty.

Reminds me of a favorite old Doctor Who episode. The TARDIS lands, and the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) steps out. He says something about some-doohickey-or-other being on the fritz, and he must remember to fix it. "I know! I'll tie a knot in my hanky!" He pulls the handkerchief out of his pocket, sees the knot that's already there, and says "Hmm. I wonder what that was for?"

I'd do that by check - if I'm walking around with a ten dollar bill in my pocket, it's either because I needed to give it to someone at work (if they're collecting for a gift or something) or pay it back to petty cash or the "pop jar" or else I was going to buy a roll of quarters with it on the way home.

But we're not collecting for any gifts and I don't owe anything to petty cash or elsewhere and I bought quarters last week, obviously with a different ten dollar bill. I must've been planning to do it earlier and forgot.

OTOH I found a dime and a nickel in the parking lot next to my car this morning so maybe the universe has just decided to shower me with free money. :yeah:

I'm still trying to imagine what it would be like to get 30 (decent) beers for $10. :o
