There's a whole lot of sky out there, and light, whilst being mind-bogglingly fast, has still got a lot of way to go.

Heck, we might discover a civilization, but by the time we actually get a probe to them they might have nuked themselves into oblivion. :dead:

Equally, it would probably be better, if we do find something...just to watch it rather than try to call it over...

Anyway, since we're in this area, here's one for mapuc:

:ping:

I noticed one thing -Near a airbase in this case an American.

Almost all stories I have heard about UFO sightings have been made near an airbase or some other military installations and at night or near sunset.

1980 ? What new military jet plane was under construction/development ?

In my mind there is no doubt that this person or these persons have been witness to some "trial" version of a new fighter jets. (that of course could be the answer to my former question-what is it they have seen)

Yes maybe the radar-guy can confirm his story-
Well do they tell an ordinary radar-guy that the Air force will be doing some flight test in this or this area at this time period ?

There is always a natural or technical explanation to these sightings

There were a lot of rumours about F-117s and B-2s making visits to Woodbridge and Bentwaters back in the day, I could have sworn I saw an F-117 on the runway once but it was late in the day, I was in a passing car and my eyes were probably deceiving me.
I've been to the site in question, and I have very strong doubts about the Orford Ness lighthouse theory, but I couldn't say for certain exactly what happened at Bentwaters, as Torplexed puts it, it's Britains Roswell incident.
There's been a fair few anaprop sightings by radar operators at the Anglian bases over the years, some can be put down to new unit testing, others are a little bit harder to explain, especially the ones that go up to several thousands of miles per hour. We know about the SR-71 now, I wonder what was the next step from the SR-71, the fabled 'Aurora' of legend and whether we'll ever know the full story behind her.

The MOD did a report into the unidentified airplane sightings, to quote wikipedia:

One of the Working Papers is entitled ""BLACK" AND OTHER AIRCRAFT AS UAP EVENTS". It says "it is acknowledged that some UAP sightings can be attributed to covert aircraft programmes". The report lists three "Western" programmes which might result in this – all of which appear to be American. The first – not surprisingly – is the SR-71. Programme 2 and Programme 3 are redacted from the report – even their names are withheld. Two photos are also redacted. This was reported on June 14, 2006 by BBC Newsnight.

Could well be that 'Aurora' is the precursor to the SR-72, like the initial 'Have Blue' prototypes to the 'Senior Trend' F-117. :hmmm:

Thank you for your answer.

Take an ordinary person who only knows a plane have wings and engine, and can't see any different between two fighter jet(e.g F14 and F18)

This is what I think. A person without any clue about fighter jets seeing a Test of a new fighter jet= a UFO sightings

and then it turn into-Man see an alien UFO

There are those that have the thought process: I do not know/understand, therefore aliens.

And then are those: I want to believe, therefore aliens.

I'm not a complete cynic. There might be aliens visiting us.
But 99 of 100 cases are just overblown rational ''incidents'' overblown by certain people. At least this kind of overzealousy is not dangerous.
A Penn and Teller episode was about Area 51 and UFO watchers and they were keen on making fun of them, but in the end they themsleves admited that these people were not crackpots, but a group that had a common hobby and the biggest effect they had was that they were hanging together and having fun.

Britain's Roswell nothing new in the news story, odd why run it unless the BBC is behind the times.

Seems to be copyright issues on Youtube you can view it but the screen size is small. I think it's more too do putting people off downloading it.

It's a loophole to post copyrighted material. Some strange logic behind it
If you post a copyrighted video normaly you might get banned, if you put it into a small frame it's all right

That would explain why a friend of mind gets angry at YouTube. Any way just updated my last post found a better version to watch in full screen.
