I was wondering if there was any possible way to extend the campaign to 1945? or if there was possibly already one in work?

The short answer is no, unfortunately the long answer is also no....

AFAIK nobody has figured it out yet and I am sure we would have a mod, or a very busy WIP thread for a mod, if someone had.

I think the difficult part is to add a new campaign block into the "storyline", since it has been made into separate blocks...but I guess there is a way: I remember one of the developers once said in an interview: "this is how far *our* capaign goes.."

I do remember that, and I can't build ships I cant build interiors, and I can't make sound mods, but I learned in SH3, I could dabble with the campaign files decently.

I thought that maybe I could extend the Black May campaign to last the rest of the war, what I looked at last night didn't look like it though, although I was really tired.

What the campaign needs really is the crew management that we saw in sh-3 and 4.

Do you mean like while your in port, that kind of crew management?

no total managent both in port and while at sea. Offcourse while in port would also be a welcome addition since sh-5 misses this completly. Seriously i dont like the fact that we must upgrade and reward medals while at sea . I never quite well understood while they took out the so succesfull crew manageent from sh-5 and 4. Its a total imerssion breaker and taker. Its a clear example of dont fix it if it aint broken , in fact they should not even have so much as touch the crew management i mean now the si caller " crew management " is like something staight out of a corny XBOX360 console game

Everything looks to be there . It shouldnt take a team of modders more than 12 months :O:

Well, after looking at the .mis files, everything that I can open with the mission editor their end date is 12/31/1945, everything in the cfg though is 6/1/1943. Its probably already been mentioned though.

Anyways what I can't open with the mission editor is the convoy.mis, taskforce.mis and traffic.mis.

Would Ubi have just changed the cfg's to reflect an end date of 1943 and left the missions and traffic running until 1945?

The small amount of naval traffic that I can open though, pretty much the harbor traffic, is running until 12/31/1945

n/m got it to work
