I'm looking for Type IXC, IXC/40 and XB to fill out the roster of U-boats in the Indian Ocean.

I know OM has these and its a great mod! But i'm looking for stand alone versions that i can work into my custom install, anyone have any ideas?

Thanks :salute:

Wow, Nice! Is it available for download or are you still working on it? Its a great looking model, i never knew the hull narrowed like that near the bow. It looks pretty cool.

What i'm trying to do in my install is to have all the U-Boats that took part in Operation Monsun. Basicly I'm trying to fill in the U-Boats that UBI left out.

The information i have been able to track down so far lists the following U-Boats...

First Wave Monsun Boats

1. U-168, IXC/40
2. U-183, IXC/40
3. U-188, IXC/40
4. U-200, IXD2
5. U-506, IXC
6. U-509, IXC
7. U-514, IXC
8. U-516, IXC
9. U-532, IXC/40
10. U-533, IXC/40
11. U-847, IXD2

Second Wave Monsun Boats

12. U-219, XB
13. U-510, IXC
14. U-848, IXD2
15. U-849, IXD2
16. U-850, IXD2

Does that look right? I'm not sure if that is all of them or not.

Hi Privateer,

converting the IX C hull with your "Schnelltauchback" to SH IV as Buker did it is quite easy. It looks and performs great in SH IV. Additionally, I also tried to rework the conning tower and the "Schnorchel" to get a more realistic Uboat. That completely messed up the textures, but gave me the freedom to create new ones. My new textures still create many problems (no deck structure on the conning tower, "flashy" textures, etc). but I´m quite happy with them.

Here are a few examples:

U-805

I would kindly ask your permission to upload Your IX C/40 "Schnelltauchback" hull for SH IV. It is Your Mod, you created it, and you deserve all credits for it.

If somebody is interested in the modified conning tower and the Schnorchel I´ll gladly share it, but don´t forget, it´s still full of problems and unfinished!

By all means share it Mate!
:yeah:

That's what it was created for.

I only ask that it retains the name as released in the SH3 forum.
With 'for SH4' appended of course.

Hi privateer!

I am surprised by your question?:)
I can not put someone else's work under his own name ...

All my credit that I have shown that IXC/40 working in SH-4!

Yes Snorkel works!:rock::rock:

The work privateer can easily find and download.
Screenshots kurfürst confirm this easy ...:salute:

P.S.kurfürst their interest in new conning tower, I already expressed ...:yeah:

I think, you are mistaken...
These submarines were not serviced by crew (and service team) not less than several months... and one or two subs have been flooded and then have been raised from shoal... :03: may be...

Hi Anvart,

guess you´re mixing up some facts! :hmmm:

U-805 surrendered on the 12th of May to the USS Otter and USS Varian.
U-805 was escorted by these two destroyers to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The boat surrendered while on patrol and in US waters, the pictures had been taken on May 18th.

U-858 received the order to surrender on May 4th.
U-858 met USS Carter and USS Muir on May 9th.
On may 14th U-858 reached Cape May, the picture had been taken there.

The boats had been serviced by their original German crews until they had been taken over by the Americans. Because they reached the operational areas submerged, using the "Schnorchel", the boats looked that worn out.

Visit www.uboatarchive.net to find out more about these Uboats!

Hi kurfürst!

I think the tower is precisely this badge?
By the way, you could make such a white skin?
Number of the submarine, I do not know ...
U-???:-?

Hi Buker,

it´s U-516, a type IX C.
The "badge" in front of the tower is the emblem of the 10. U-Flottille.
I don´t have such a skin, sorry!

Maybe you can figure out how to import the water running off the deck and sides from SH5. That and Exhaust Smoke is all that is missing from the IXC/40 EnvSim effects right now. I didn't want to put the Firehose looking effect on the boat.
I am trying to figure out how to have Exhaust Smoke from the Snorkel when Raised and from the Exhaust Ports on the hull when the Snorkel is Lowered.

Madox58
12-16-10, 07:23 PM
The water run off stuff from SH5 is a minor re-write of the files.
Already in the process on those.
For the Exhaust Smoke for the Hull, visible underwater controller.
For the Snork, pretty much the same but useing a dummy node then attaching the smoke node.
The dummy node is low enuff to be underwater when surfaced,
the attached smoke node is placed where you want it.
Visible underwater should shut it down then as it's attached to the dummy node.

Here is a Typ-VIIC/41 made for SHIII by Tomi_099 for SH4 that I am adding some eye candy to for use in SH4 U-Boat Missions.
Also working on swapping out SHIII controllers with SH4 controllers and removing items that should be cfg#NSS_Uboat7c_xxx nodes.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/picture.php?albumid=229&pictureid=3444
Currently the Crews for Deck Gun and AA Flak guns will not man their positions. (Still need to contact Tomi_099 for permission to post)
Using a modified version of the Typ-IX Interior done by Ducimus from his Nine Delta Two Beta that includes the Fore and Aft Crew Quarters with Galley and Dining area made by FlakMonkey. (Two words - "Light Maps")
PM'd FlakMoney asking for permission to use his Interior Rooms and Ducimus already gave permission in his readme.txt

More Pics but out of space.

EDIT 1:
-=[FlakMonkey gave permission to use his Interiors]=-:yeah:
-=[Tomi_099 gave permission to use his VIIC Model]=--:yeah:
EDIT 2:
Fixed Flak and Deck Gun Crew so they Man Positions now.
Working on adding Crew Quarters Compartment in Crew Management like Hogan's Alley except compartments will be active. Plan to have 6 crew slots aft and 6 crew slots fore and populated using Deck/Flak fun crews. Both compartments will have a bulkhead and moving batteries into respective compartments. Going to put Deck Gun and Flak crews in there using Bunk Crew slots for when active and Gun/Flak Crew slots for Battle Stations. Hopefully that will prevent DC's from easily killing those crew when submerged. I will still maintain the current crew slots but just not populate any Gun Crew slot by default.
i.e.
For the new Crew Compartments, the "WatchCrewMemberSlot3D= WM1@slot_M01" will be set to "WatchCrewMemberSlot3D= Bunk1@slot_FQ". "BattleStationsCrewMemberSlot3D= WM1@slot_M01" will remain the same. Doing this will disable "Man the Deck/Flak Gun" buttons in Crew Management unless you move the crew into the gun compartments.
