Sorry haven't played with TDWs UI_mod or SH5 so not sure what these supermarks are you r referring to.
Can you post a screenshot, most likely these are coded in by TDW - so not sure if I can do them unless its possible to script something?

Ui-Boat V5.01 Uploaded

Beta version of my latest UI V5.01

Found a load of errors in scripts and WIP files that were not required.
Streamlined files from the Mod that are not needed to reduce file size.

Still bugs present, but a good test platform for V5 upwards.
Hopefully this won't cause as much Issues as previous one in order to run and test.

Supermarks are normal marks but with the extra that you can write text under the mark.
So you can take notes in your navigation map.

Example:

Hi.
I have steam version of SHV.
I downloaded 4.15 version and installed it via jsgme. But in game it seems layout is broken.
My screen resolution is 1920*1280 and in game is 1920*1200.
Also ring, for acquiring target's range rounds only counterclockwise.
Could someone help, how to solve this?

Hi vasmann, I've designed the UI around a ConstantAspectRatioHorizontal Scaling. Using the default Silent Hunter Screen size of 1024*768 this is an aspect ratio of 4:3 while your playing at 1920*1280 (An unusual resolution - not the standard) 1920*1200 is 16:10.

So what is happening is the horizontal plane is scaling until it hits the side of the screen, now with widescreen Aspect ratios this means the vertical aspect scales in relation to that and so scales past the top/bottom of the screen.
This has to be done this war or the Lens would not maintain its circular opening, but would start to look oval instead.
The wider the aspect ration the more of the top/bottom of the screen is lost (This only effect the background Images and the RAOBFs).

The menu items are not effected. If this is not what your reffering to can you post a pic of the issue.

Hi Luken works best at 4:3 aspect ratios, as mentioned above widecreen ratios cause some loss to the top/bottom of the backgrounds in order to maintain correct scaling :up:

If your a Fan of Total Manual Targeting and old-school methods of playing eg SH3, Then Ui will be up your street.
As a huge SH3 fan (still am - prefer it to sh5) I wanted to get back that feel of 100% manual targeting. And while TDW is creating some wonderful additions for SH5, I am not a fan of making the sim more Automated.
I like to do everything myself no matter how monotonous it may be, and not have the game do it for me while just sit back and watch.

So drawback wise: You have to play :O:
Plus wise: Its Sh3/4 all over again - Everything is restored form the Interface - so its not just the eye candy :03: (V5.01 has replica TDC and fat/Lut panels too).

Hi Mate most of the changes are in the background, reworked all the scripts.

Moved most items to the DefaultHud and Layout pages - before they were all over the place on different pages.

Re-organised the Layout of the Main view - Icons moved from bottom of screen to topright of screen (Down the side).

Removed the Left and Right TDC panels from the scope pages.
Replaced them with a replica TDC panel that can be opened on any page.

Also added a Replica Fat/Lut panel (Not tested as I had no Fat/Lut torpedoes on board to see if panel worked correctly)

Added a working Target lock button to the Scopes - previous one just assigned a target, new version assigns target on first click - locks to target on second click.

the crew message screen is down on the right bottom, cant be seen its to dark also when you have the 3 dials up it is behind them so you cant see it any way.:damn:
i think it would be nice if there was some way of reading fuel and battery levels, without having to keep looking at system page.:D

I just need a step by step guide about how things function When using either manual or automated tdc. Stoanim's tutorials are excellent, but as it is using a different ui mod its not really that helpful

Thanks for feedback, I'll make the Dialog box less transparent and move the Main dials behind or to another area of the screen.
Keep forgetting to make them fuel/battery level gauges. Thanks for reminder. :up:

Someday I'll get around to doing some Tutorials and finishing the Manual I had started, although every thing has changed I'll need to restart that project :D

The Ship Target lock is the small round button on the Scope face (there are 2, 2nd one is to change lens filters). :up:
Recognition Manual IS hidden of-screen to the left. You'll see a small brown triangular Tab on the left.
You can click and hold this and drag the Recon Manual out. :up:

Good to hear that its running stable, and to that end here is the latest bug fixed version:

Standalone Installation V5.01 is not needed or any other version.

TDC is 100% complete (Proper Glass on Gauges)
RedLight Masks for TDC and Fat/Lut Panels complete
Lightened colour in MessageBox so Text is more readable
Added Rotatable handels in Fat/Lut to move Dial Needles
Fixed Crew Orders Clipboard so its selectable
Removed 2nd Knob (non functioning) from the Torpedo Speed Dial in TDC

PS: As for Battery/O2 levels these can be seen in the Crew Orders Managment.

Select Engineer - Then Reports (Only Icon on engineer page).
There is numerical values for the items on this report - I can create dial version here if required too. :up:

In the bunker the nav map was white with a x in the box, and both interactive people where injured with no dialogue in the box except go to game. The message box at the bottom had no messages in it. I hope I had explained it well enough.

:hmmm: I'll double check I packaged all the files correctly. Sounds like a bad script (Did remove all Mods via JGSME and re-install them again).

But it doesn't need to be a TDWs mod, just asking about that kind of feature, because if this UI suppose to be realistic, I think many people would choose to play with that kind of navigation also :) . I'm playing now with TDWs UI but also i'm planning to migrate to your UI, because it looks more immersive, and I'm concerned about "real navigation" as it's important feature for realistic play :) .

Essentially it just removes your boat and any kind of things that auto-updates from the map, so you need to estimate your position yourself (or ask about it your navigator, that can do this with some margin of error (celestial fix (take longer to calculate but more accurate) or dead-reckoning (faster, related to last fixed position)). You have also sextant. The thing with navigator is propably harder to mod, but just removing our boat from map and implement sextant should be easy but I may be wrong :) .

I got 3 save file an I tried it on all 3 the same problem . I even tried it with only 5.02 and OH1.6 loaded(did not work). 5.01 works fine. I also tried(5.02) it on a historical mission and same problems. In my other post I dont know if I mention that the blank nav screen also shows up in the bunker and I cannot close it.

Hi Dave what type of video card are you using. mine is EVGA(Nivida) geForce 560 GX with the newest drivers(I am wondering if it could be video related):hmmm:. I an still using 5.01 with only a small problem with the periscope. The control box sometime refuse to open. the overhead torp screen works every time.

Hi REAPER7 and LUKEN, just to be clear I too am having an excellent gaming experience with v4.14, and I totally appreciate the hard work and effort that REAPER7 commits to enhance my enjoyment OF sh5. My comments were not a winge, rather I was doing as requested - reporting bugs to aid in the development of an excellent GUI.

I must be missing a file in the Mod thats present in my actual SH5 Game Installation folder - that would explain why it works ok for me and not you guys.
Now since V5.01 worked it must be included with that one.

Did you try try Installing V5.01 and then Install V5.02 over it to see if it works that way - if so then its definitely a missing file in V5.02

Appreciate the Bug reports - helps me to track down the issue. :up:

are you afraid again that someone steals your laurels?

instead of thinking everybody will steal your ideas and work, i would await from someone like you to offer support and readiness to answer some questions about that.

The only way to create an implementation like that is to learn how the mechanism are working in sh5 for real navigation. It can't be copied. It has to be done by ourself. The way here is understanding and not copy it.

No One will steal your work or use it as a reference. I don't do it and i think reaper also does not something like that.

I have figured out my own solution to the same problems you solved in my own way - completly different but the same outcome :03:

Any idea if this mod can be used with OH II v1.7, as I get the following errors when enabling it through GME.

I have PM'ed Mav87th about some ideas he had about creating a working Navigation that I believe I can bring to fruition.

If I had put everything I've done to this game python wise into dlls majority of you all would still be trying to figure out the menu editor...

In OHII - we changed some of the ship types so that we could get a set of ships that would only be found near the coast. The hog and N3SA1 were used for this and set to type 108 in OHII.

I have been using 5.01 and OH 2 1.7 with the patch since 1.7 came out and I had only 1 CTD and I have played quite awhile .:up:

You need to place OHII after Ui-Boatv5.
This is because OHII changes the cfg files of these two ships as above.
Other than that - both these mods will work well together:up:

Restore the orginal page default hud and page main. (data/script/menu)
Some reason Jsgme can not bring the orginal back if you disable the mod.

So make always a backup of that 2 files.

Ok Guys - News for those having Issues running Ui-Boat V5.02.
I've just done a fresh Install of Sh5 to another of my PC's (lower spec - but just about runs it).
This PC never had SH5 installed to it so no chance of errors due to same files etc.
Installed JGSME then added the Mod as uploaded to Subim of Ui-Boat V5.02.
Activated the Mod and ran the Sim.
Ui-Boat V5.02 ran perfectly no errors in any scripts or any other misbehaving.
So looks like the issues people are having may be due to JGSME not actually copying over all the Files due to similarities to those from V5.01 still in its history.

Not sure how this is rectified, any one have any experience with JSGME in this area???

At least we know that V5.02 is working as intended :yep:

Delete everthing and than i install sh5 from DVD again.

Then i delete everthing and install again but than with all the MODS and v5.02.

I did the alt tab and for sh5 it was a blank box with a small round sh5 emblem in the corner and a small line(courser) I dont know if it helpful or not . i also did it in window mode and got no error and the box with the picture of the woman at start up.

If you look in the periscoop in the controlroom you see the icon from the attack disk but it dont work.

BIGREG you solved the Mystery, there is the problem and the reason why it works for some and not others.

Anyone that initially downloaded V5.02 have the incorrect files - I had re-uploaded V5.02 with the correct files.
Not expecting it to have been downloaded but looks like some people got the incorrect version.

I re-uploaded one with the Hide Hud button removed as it is no loner needed. but the original scripts is looking for this item and can't find it - hence fails. So the Page Default-Hud script doesn't start and the reason for the whits boxes not being removed.



Solution re-download the V5.02 (It should be the correct version) if not I'll reupload it again as a new file not as a replacement file. :up:

That looks like an old version of the UI and probably not working correctly. Or else you've install the HiRes Periscope over 4.12 that are not working with V4.12???
I recommend you update to V4.14 or the new V5.02 :yep:

Hi guys don't use these periscopes with V4.00 upwards not compatiable - Incorrect FOV (These were made for the 1080P version that is no longer supported) :up:

Also using these will overwrite the scripts required for the Stadimeter and Mast Height fixes.
Maybe its time I deleted all my old files from subsim ???

Ok Guys update on the Problem with V5.02.


After BigReg posted the error, and confirmed it was a problem with my origianl upload having the older file.
Which I belived I had solved by re-uploading the file again.

I just download the File and opened it and guess what its still the old file. This Means everyone has the broken version. :damn::damn::damn::damn:

Ok I'm uploading it again to replace the incorrect file.

So sorry guys - I should have download the file to confirm that it was replaced correctly - My fault.

But at least it should be working correctly now. :up::up::up::up:

Hi Luken. to close the attack disk just put your mouse cusior over the area where the button was and click it and it will close. I done it 3 or 4 times with no problems:up:.

Hi Mate, Yes you I think the same fix may be in UHS - the change I made to the sensors fix is the Hydrophone 180degrees offset fix.

Besides fixing few minor problems, I think there are three things that would make that UI simply perfect for me, and by perfect I mean, I would never look at any other UI - EVER. That things are:

1. Working Attack Disc with all rings/discs (I'm just in love with this tool :D )
2. Proper Recognition Manual
3. Manual navigation (the least important for me, mainly immersive factor)

It looks so good, that lack of these features is so painful to accept... It's like you can easily imagine that UI with these tools, and you are almost crying that they are not there. Easy to imagine, hard to code :( . It's a shame that I can't code to help with it. But I can try to polish some graphics, don't know yet. I'm not familiar with dds format but I do have a Photoshop with plugin for it. The problem is - while saving there are many options to choose from, and I don't know how should I save it.

As for dds files in PS. All you need to chose is DXT3 from the dropdown menu. Or DXT5 if you need better transparency for items like glass (Less compression but larger filesize)

Luken is the attack disk not working correctly in ui 5.02?

Do you mean the Labels are not in English on the TDC ???
If so this will be in a future release once the bugs are corrected. :up:

Hello, I tried to do my first modification of modification (Ui-Boat 5.02) :D .

For me that graphic has few major flaws:
1. It's too bright (irregularly) even for a daylight.
2. The perspective was somewhat messed up because of that knob on bottom-right.

So I tweaked it a little to make it look more realistically and not out of place.

As you can see I changed a little bit also a color of center ring so the whole thing looks more clear (for me at least), but I'm not sure of that change yet.

The problem is that the night version is too dark - http://i41.tinypic.com/2cdfgw4.png and I don't know what to do with it, I tried to play with RAOBFNightMask.dds but without good results yet. :-? I will also try to make every number more clearly visible by some pixel art ;) .

What do you think about that version? :)

Hi reaper!
When I turn on attack disk there's a problem. The edge of the disc covers the control buttons and can not drive and turn off anything else. The screen resolution is 1280x1024.

For the Nigh Mask you can edit the colour/translucency via the Menu Editor. Goto Pageattackperiscope_RAOBF_RAOBFNightMask and you can change its colour from the colour picker (Will be the red box) and its alpha can be change from 0 (Invisible) to 255 (Solid) by the A value. :up:

Hi Mate, don't worry I have that fixed already. Will be in my next release.
New version only has one side onscreen - and has a toggle button for front/back.

Yeah but on the picture, the wheel is showed from the perspective. I'm staying in front of the periscope and shouldn't see the wheel from that perspective if it is straight in front of me. So that is why I think it looks strange :) .

Edit: Sorry I missed it " it come out from the plate at an angle so as to be turn-able" - are you sure? This picture was taken from an angle, this disc isn't even round.

Edit 2: Anyway I will make my version that is more pleasant for eyes I think ;) .

Yes I'm pretty sure the Knob is at an angle - If you look at the eyepieces which have the deepest extrusion in the picture you can see no perspective difference showing the picture is taking straight on.
So if that is the case, the knob being lower down is the framed shot should have its perspective in the opposite incline - that is you would see the face of the back of the knob not the front as in the pic.
This means the knob is angled out towards the operator.

But I'm happy for you to make any changes you wish - And if you wish I will Include them as an addon for others to use from on the first page of this thread :up:

You can infinitely rotate RAOBF counter clockwise but you can't do it clockwise.

Suggestion:

Afraid this is stock behavior - of the Dial type used to rotate dial. I need to look into doing this by Python instead of dial.cfg ;)

Well after looking to the Internet and back to the Script Manager and the stock Scripts:

Hi Rubini you can install Uboat_sensors.sim and SteelViking's Interior Mod V1.2 with my Uio just ignore the conflicts - there the same changes :up:

No transportation done yet in my Ui - another item I've yet to get around to :DL

1. The dials are blokking the tactical map.
Maybe you must put them in the middel.

2. The message box.
Maybe you can make light grey with the red light off.
And dark grey with the red light on.
And do you like the black letters? :o

3. And the last can you make the compass more beautifuller.

A little aesthetic suggestion: http://i42.tinypic.com/153wsxi.jpg these are two kinds of buttons, so I think there should be some space between them, not big - just some, maybe about height of one or two buttons. I think that would make interface more clear. BTW: I'm making a new RAOBF from scratch based on proportions from the file you sent me. Main goals are - toned down contrast and brightness and bigger, more visible numbers. Release will be soon :salute: .

1) independent controls over each individual engine alone ie. Port or Starboard engines instead of always using both at the same time
2) option for both diesel ans electric on surface for and extra boost of speed
3) manual control of dive plans during submerged maneuvers
4) manual control of ballasts
If anyone know where of how to get this in silent hunter V thanks in advance!!

As far as the bet version. Do you have a link to show all the features? I noticed 2 additional icons at the top (world? And microphone?)
Also can't see to get the attack disk to function, objects are clickable through the disk. Pushing F1 does not show new hotkeys and the hotkeys are not functional. Submarine school page is blank in opening screen. Are these rendered in the beta version?
*note- could not get JSME to activate, manually backed up and merged files into their directories

Liked this one more than DW ui mod. Love it! After playing for awhile could someone tell me when the snorkel becomes available?Also i noticed that after installing this mod and the other mods steelviking recommanded my boat depth is off. At deeper depths ill order 140 meters but the boat levels at 160 and stays there. Shallower deaths its ok but when i surface the boat breaks the sureface and the lookouts come out but then drops back down the 20 meters or so then comes back up to surface and stays there. Any ideas?

Hi Mate, in process of new version and bug fixes.

Have now fixed the issue with the Torp Panel and RAOBF not showing on the Obs Scope :up:

Also thanks to radcapricorn :up: he has helped me to implement his methods of creating working mouse draggable Attack Disc and RAOBF wheels.

For that reason I have remade the Attack disc to Hitmans V2 Attack Disc previous one was based on his V1 attack disc due to only having 1 player controllable dial on the disc due to methods previously used.

Now all 4 Layers are fully draggable via mouse (no more dial.cfg tie-ins) :yeah:

Restore the orginal page default hud and page main. (data/script/menu)
Some reason Jsgme can not bring the orginal back if you disable the mod.

So make always a backup of that 2 files.

I have the exact same problem. Your suggestion did not help. Has anyone solved this issue yet?



Update: I uninstalled SHV & re-installed patched to 1.05. My problem still persists. I cannot close the blank TAI window at all & I have no other mods installed - only this one. I installed it directly after re-installing SHV. So no other mod corrupted anything as yet.

Please, any help would be appreciated as I'd like to use this stunning interface.

Hi Mate, in process of new version and bug fixes.

Have now fixed the issue with the Torp Panel and RAOBF not showing on the Obs Scope :up:

Also thanks to radcapricorn :up: he has helped me to implement his methods of creating working mouse draggable Attack Disc and RAOBF wheels.

For that reason I have remade the Attack disc to Hitmans V2 Attack Disc previous one was based on his V1 attack disc due to only having 1 player controllable dial on the disc due to methods previously used.

Now all 4 Layers are fully draggable via mouse (no more dial.cfg tie-ins) :yeah:

Firs off I'd like to say what a wonderful mod especilly since I'm running sh5 through wine on linux and i cant use TDW's NeWUI mods. and also because its just allaround awsome. But i have only two problems with it, one I wish it was scaleable or had different resolution versions cause my monitor is only 1600x900 and some of the items like the Attack dial cover more screen then it needs to and also the RAOFB yours or Lukens doe not match up with the lenses in the attack periscope. Also are there manuals so that i can use your dials for the torpedo and etc.. and please come back to sh5 we need you and your UI.:salute:

Am i the only 1 who Has a crew management Tab malfuction it's there but its greyed out and when i click on it i hear it go TIC but it dosent open the tab... I have 5.02 Beta btw. Any fixes for that? i'm running SH Gold 1.20 updated with the .exe patch from TDW i've tried to dissable that fully and test the UI and still same issue. I have uninstalled and renstalled.. No joy still.

Ok Guys update on the Problem with V5.02.


After BigReg posted the error, and confirmed it was a problem with my origianl upload having the older file.
Which I belived I had solved by re-uploading the file again.

I just download the File and opened it and guess what its still the old file. This Means everyone has the broken version. :damn::damn::damn::damn:

Ok I'm uploading it again to replace the incorrect file.

So sorry guys - I should have download the file to confirm that it was replaced correctly - My fault.

But at least it should be working correctly now. :up::up::up::up:

Unfortunately Reaper7 doesn't seem interested anymore in developping further this mod. We have still TDW's and DrJone's excellent UIs to choose from, yet this is a shame 'cause Reaper did a top class work on his UI, and it is always good having more options :yep:

Hi, I'm newbie here. Is this game as good as Silent Hunter 3 years ago? I hope it is. I've played it at single player and with mods. My colleagues tried to make their own mod, but testing failed.
